Good Value versus a lake front property
Overall, this is a nice cottage with Right of Way and a 1 min walk to the waterfront. Owner had everything advertised, ie: canoe and kids swingset. You can do everything you want to waterside: boating, fishing, swimming, etc. Only 2 issues with my stay: 1. Their was some construction (a drain pipe) being put in outside the cottage with an excavator and a bulldozer for the first 3 days. If you wanted peace and quiet, it didn't work. (It was sked for following week, but supposedly changed.) 2. Owner was extremely nice, and friendly, but outside yard really needed better maintenance. Grass was very high near swingset and around picnic tables. Also, grass was mowed when wet, and we trailed clumps of grass throughout the cottage when going in and out. Also, owner should have disclosed in advance that cottage was up for sale and that their might be people wanting to view the place.

Owner's Response: Gary is generally correct about his three complaints. I apologize to him and I emphasize he scored us 4 of 5 even with the inconveniences.
Our road manager promised not to do road work until after Labor Day, but then began early without approval of owners. For future renters, the work is now done.
The lawn was mowed on the one sunny day after 11 days of rain. It was still soggy, but it was the only opportunity to cut. For future renters, I will do the best I can given the weather.
I should have notified Gary about selling the cottage. I did not because it was not for sale when he and I struck our agreement, and then with the market being so slow, there was no buyer interest. As luck would have it, one person asked to do a walk through during Gary's stay. He graciously permitted it. For future renters, I made upgrades to the cottage in September and now intend to keep it.
