Lincoln City Vacation Rental house

The house is very nice and the location is great. However, the owner's list of rules and regulations is a bit much. There's numerous pages in a book that lists all the things that will forfeit your deposit. Also, the cleaning charge is higher than other rentals, and you're required to strip the beds and start the wash (or forfeit part of your deposit). There was supposed to be a back up tank of gas for the grill, but it was empty. My dinner was ruined. When I complained to the owner, she said she'd reimburse me for the dinner. Five months later, I'm still waiting. There are other great rentals out there. This one is not worth the aggravation of dealing with the owner.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Black Pearl. We have never stayed in a private home for vacation and it was better than we imagined. The house was clean, well cared for and inviting, the furniture and beds were very comfortable and the views were spectacular! My husband and I enjoyed the muscle-relaxing jacuzzi in the master bedroom, while the teenagers spent a lot of time in the outdoor hot tub and on the deck. I loved getting ready in the morning in the master bath with the window open, listening to the ocean and watching the charter boats head out for fishing. My husband loves nature photography and was pleasantly surprised by a bald eagle which flew by each morning within 15 feet of the master bedroom deck. There were plenty of movies/games to keep everyone occupied when we weren't spending time out of doors and the wi-fi/phone/TV keep you in touch with the rest of the world if you want/need to be. We brought our own groceries and took advantage of the gas barbecue, the coffee maker with grinding capability and the other kitchen appliances, so we didn't have to spend a lot eating out. The steep driveway into the garage is a little daunting, but there is room to park two vehicles across the street if it bothers you. The younger set didn't mind the walk to and from the beach at all (we drove) and there was plenty of beautiful beach to be had without a lot of foot traffic. Kite flying and sand sculptures were the activities of choice for the teens, while my husband and I spent all our time photographing their activities and the scenery. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing and fun vacation. You won't be disappointed!

Nice house, great view. We stayed for one week. Big open floor plan, nice selection of movies (not very many "G" rated though). Great king size bed in master. The hot tub has great view also but we didn't use it since it was raining sideways the entire time we were there.

The house is on a cliff. You need to walk about 12 houses down steep drive to get to beach access (watch for traffic, no sidewalks). Inside the house, the stairs from 1st to 2nd floor are "short". If you wear shoes, you have to be very careful. We almost fell down them a few times. Upon arriving, there are a few bottles of wine, but you will be charged. Not a problem but not clearly spelled out that these are not complimentary.

If you have kids, make sure to bring plenty of toys and maybe a wagon if they get tired at beach. I carried my 4 year old up the hill after a full day there, and it was not a walk in the park.
