Weathered by the elements of time, this country hide-a-ways have been hidden from view for two generations but are now available for year-round rental, by the 2 night minimum, week, or month-whichever you prefer.

Restoration experts have worked their magic on the each cabin's interior and have restored them to their original 1890's splendor. Eager visitors will be surprised to find antique furnishings accentuated by the Howald's special country touches. Trompe l'oeil paintings, hand-hooked rugs, quilts and comfy beds abound. Picturesque views, coupled with refreshing mountain breezes make DUNROMIN and DUNGOUGHIN an ideal alternative to hotel living. A PERFECT PLACE FOR OUR ALL FEMALE FAMILY GET TOGETHER FOR HIKING

DUNGOUGHIN IS SUCH A WARM AND INVITING PLACE TO STAY ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE JUST COMING IN FROM AN ALL DAY HIKE. WE WENT OUT FOR PIZZA AND JUST THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OURSELVES. THE REAL COUNTRY ANTIQUES AND ART DISPLAYS IN EACH ROOM ARE JUST BEAUTIFULLY DONE. TOM AND DEE HAVE DONE THEIR HOMEWORK, SO CLEAN AND SO VERY HOMEY. ALL 8 OF US HAD A GREAT TIME. THIS WAS TRULY OUR BEST GIRLS GETAWAY IN A LONG, LONG TIME!

We came here a bunch of men and women friends from church and school to hang out and have a great time. This place is amazing. Just right for us. Private, safe, gorgeous views and just a most gorgeous unique cabin. It is something you can't explain. We had such a great time. The owners Tom and Dee
are just the greatest people to get to know. They have lived here a very long time, raised their kids here
I can't imagine growing up here. Heaven on earth I tell you. Best wishes to all who make this your place to stay; it's kind of life changing in a great way, a true place away from the busy world. They will work ith you on price too, so don't be afraid to ask. Hope you choose Dungoughin it is perfect.

Our accommodations are marvelous and the location is perfect, peaceful, quiet, beautiful, but so very close to Asheville, Biltmore Estate, restaurants, fabulous bakery. Actually you name it this location is the greatest!

The owners live on site on their 27 acre working estate. We can't see them and they can't see us. We are doing giant private fireworks this evening and we are so looking forward to it. The weather has been cool, but no snow except on the mountain tops.

This cabin/lodge is so unusual and absolutely immaculate. Perfect for our stay. We give it 10 stars.

We have had such a great holiday here at Dungoughin Cabin very near Asheville. Such a perfect place to enjoy the mountains and our destination Asheville! We thought we would go skiing, but since there is no snow we did some hiking instead. It was so great to get back to our warm and homey cabin. After we ate a late dinner we went outside to sit at the fire pit. Not one of those fake pits but the real kind made fom real stones. It was so great to see all the stars, the big dipper was so clear. It is like a planetarium. I highly recommend this place for your Asheville vacation.
