Great stay for family reunion
Pros:
-The Dungoughin cabin was fabulously-designed and decorated.
-The furniture was luxurious and comfy, and there were 6 rocking chairs on the porch begging you to sit down and relax with family.
-The owners could not have been more accommodating, friendly and helpful.
-Dungoughin was VERY child-friendly; our toddlers had a blast running on the large yard and ringing the bell.
-The setting was pastoral with birdsong and lowing cows in the nearby fields - so very peaceful.
-Weaverville (local town) was awesome - the bakery on main street is a must-muncher. Zabra, the tapas place in Asheville was phenomenal, and Asheville's The Chocolate Fetish had amazing high-cal delights. In Brevard, (40 mins from the cabin) Sliding Rock is an awesome swim, with a 50 foot waterfall nearby you can swim in!
Cons:
-The listing was unclear and we assumed we were renting both cabins and arrived to discover we only had one; that said, the owners were very considerate in renting the other to us.
-There were too few blankets, and a few nights we were a bit cold!
-Lightswitches were not labeled and the lights on the porch did not work.
-Finding the cabin in the middle of this night was a bit tricky - the address listed was the owners' home. The cabins are on their property, one of which is accessed by a service road.
