Picturesque Lake Retreat

We stayed at this property for our 25th wedding anniversary vacation. The view from the balcony of this neatly organized, well equipped home was exquisite. You can watch the fish jumping out of the water in the early morning hours, enjoy the variety of marine traffic traveling up and down the lake throughout the day, and bask in the beauty of the evening sunset.
All necessary amenities were provided except for linens. Rooms were large and nicely decorated. There was a hot tub located off the main bath, although it was not available for guest use. The living room featured a large fireplace, but it also was not available for guest use. A barbeque grill and dining furniture were provided on the deck, allowing for romantic dinners overlooking the lake. For those who enjoy reading, a well stocked library with a comfy reading chair awaits you.
The property featured a boat dock, which is very convenient for a guest with their own boat or boat rental. There were lighting fixtures on the dock, but location of power was not provided, making evening returns to the property via boat a bit arduous.
The location of the home is tucked back in a cozy cove at the end of a densely wooded street, yet it's close to boat rentals, restaurants, stores and other attractions. You can keep your automobile parked and have access to shopping, dining out, sightseeing, etc. via boat. The fishing on Smith Mountain Lake is superb.
Correspondence with owners Gordon and Sevgi was very pleasant. They provided directions to the property and all information needed during our stay, including brochures to all the local attractions, menus for local eateries, and lake area yellow pages.
We look forward to vacationing there again, this time with our family.
