Ocean views and 2 minute walk to beach!

Bright, Sunny and spotlessly clean, this quintessential Maine beach cottage features beautiful ocean views and a perfect location. Located in the beautiful and historic Town Landing neighborhood of Falmouth-Foreside, rated 'Maine's most prestigious neighborhood', it's just 10 mins to downtown Portland and 15 mins to the charming town of Freeport with the famous Freeport outlets and the huge LL Bean Campus of stores. The location feels away from it all, yet it's only 1-2 miles to restaurants, coffee shops & shopping! Wake up to see the sailboats in the harbor. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktails on the expansive deck with beautiful views of the sailboats in the harbor and huge adirondack chairs.

Walk to the private beach or the Town Landing Market, both just steps away. The historic Town Landing Market features the best (and most affordable) lobster rolls around, plus shrimp rolls and crab rolls around plus delicious made-to order sandwiches and pizza.

The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably in great beds with quality mattresses. The Master bedroom features ocean views, a brand new very high-end Beautyrest Black King-sized mattress from the Beautyrest Black Recharge line purchased for the 2014 summer rental season, a new Flatscreen and new bedroom furniture (newly purchased for the 2015 rental season and not yet delivered/photographed), a room AC and hand-painted diamond-patterned floors.

The 2nd bedroom features a verdigris iron queen bed with a thick memory foam topper, a room AC and whimsically hand-painted polka-dot bordered floors. The 3rd bedroom its very small and cozy with twin beds, a room AC, hand painted floors, a set of shelves for clothing (no closet) and a Tommy Hilfiger nautical theme.

Cheerful and sunny living room with ocean views is open to dining room and home-office area (not shown) with a brand new sofa and new comfy chair (not photographed), 42' Samsung Flatscreen and AC.

Dining room seats six comfortably and is open to the living room. Living room with wood stove features comfortable sofa, loveseat, comfy reading chair and plenty of additional seating including lots of special children's furniture throughout, plus a home-office area. Home has wireless high speed internet throughout, 200+ channels, a new 42' Samsung HDTV and land line with unlimited domestic long-distance.

Spacious kitchen with sunroom is extremely well-equipped with everything you need for large family meals and entertaining, plus two sets of service-for-8 dishes, a heavy-guage Ralph Lauren stainless silverware set for 12, and glassware in every category.

Deck is outfitted with 4 of the highest-quality oversized adirondack chairs sold in the US, plus side tables and a bistro set for casual ocean-view dining.

For our winter and longer-term guests, we encourage you to use our cozy wood stove fireplace insert. Also, our new efficient boiler/heat system was added in 2009, along with a new roof. New energy efficient windows throughout were added in 2010 and 2014 to the living room, kitchen and dining room plus the two smaller bedrooms. The exterior was fully remodeled and repainted in 2010.

Winter Getaway--A Family Tradition

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our (now) teenage children have been staying at this charming home for a couple of long winter weekends each year, usually in December and then sometimes again in February. I originally discovered this home a few years ago and surprised my wife with a Valentines getaway. We enjoyed our time in the Portland (and Freeport) area, as well as our evenings in the home, so thoroughly that we decided we needed to share it with our kids. Since that initial stay, it has become a special tradition for our family and we try to reserve a Christmas shopping stay each year in December; and then, when the home is available, we will often return in February to break up the winter (and my wife and girls enjoy the post-Christmas bargains in Freeport). We truly can’t say enough about the comforts of this home and the special extras provided by the owners, Marilys and Robert. The home is so welcoming and inviting in every way. We usually arrive in the evening and the heat is always set to our ideal temperature upon arrival; the fireplace often has a fire going, the lights are on; there are flowers, chocolates, etc. It’s quite a cozy home, very warm, has comfortable furniture for gathering by the fire at night, and very good mattresses, something we have not always encountered in other rental homes. We also find the location to be perfect for our needs. The area is unusually peaceful and quiet, which is a nice retreat from our fast-paced Boston life, but there are theaters and coffee shops nearby that our kids really appreciate when my wife and I want some quiet time at the house. We always look forward to our favorite Portland restaurants and the breakfast places in Falmouth are the best we’ve found in the area. We just reserved our December stay and look forward to seeing all of the changes the owners made to the house this past summer. We truly need to thank you both for helping us create a special family tradition that we all look forward to each year. Thanks again for everything and we look forward to seeing you very soon.

An exceptional rental, sure to impress any visitor

  • 5 of 5

With parents visiting, I spent a lot of time looking for a place close by where family could all easily visit. This wonderful cottage was perfect in every way. The owner responed quickly to numerous emails, and was beyond helpful in making this a truly unique experience. She put a ready light log in the fire and had the cottage immaculate upon arrival. The views from the living room, dining room and upstairs master bedroom look right onto the ocean. The expectionaly comfortable living room is arranged to entertain a large group, and the adirondack chairs in the backyard and upstairs porch are wonderful ways to enjoy the view. We grilled outside one night for dinner, and Marilys conveniently had a large bag of charcoal to use.

Her amazing attention to detail is exceptional, from the beautiful floor designs to painted antiques. She clearly had a lot of fun decorating this cottage and we all spent a good deal of time admiring her artwork and designs. My favorite was her coffee table: a handcrafted Maine lobster trap, with an antique painted door over the top. She also filled the house with brightly painted lobster buoys, starfish and seashells.

We had a wonderful walk around the town, stoping at the Town Landing store for local gossip on the weather and a good cup of coffee. We drove to Mackworth Island, a few miles down the road, and had a wonderful hike. We were close enough to Freeport for shopping and enjoyed an excellent dinner at Fore Street in downtown Portland. Everything was close by, but we could have stayed at the house and been completely happy.

I recommend this to visitors, and to local families who want a house close by for friends and family. We all truly enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Coastal House!

  • 5 of 5

I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at this house by the water in Falmouth for a week in November. The décor was charming, and the amenities were plentiful! Going to bed with a view of the moon over Casco Bay was only matched by waking up to the Sun rising over the ocean. The bedrooms were beautiful and the deck off the master bedroom was delicious. My only regret was that I could not stay longer. The neighborhood is full of similar houses, with such an inviting and safe feel. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. You will be doing yourself a favor by staying at this special house on the water in Maine!

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this house, sitting on the big balcony, looking at the sea.Beds are really comfortable. Falmouth is a beautiful village, with easy access to visitors attractions in Portland-and particularly good for tours along the coast. The house is exactly as described, very nice decorated and Marilys (the landlady) is so helpful. The cottage was clean and well maintained. To a farmers market we only walked two minutes. We also found the Wi-Fi connection particularly useful in helping us plan our visits. It was a wonderful week in a lovely cottage. Thank you so much Marilys.

A magical moment in a delightful, charming house

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a great Labor Day weekend in this Farmouth Foreside house. The location is perfect for discovering the region (15 min from Portland; 30 min from Cap Elizabeth) and 2 min walk to the beach and dock.

The house is not too big and not too small and nicely decorated. Was perfect for 6 of us (3 adults and 3 children). The layout is good so we can be together as well as enjoy quiet time when needed. The house is clean and has what's needed for cooking from simple things to more elaborate (we had to cook our own lobsters!) and going out (beach towels, picnic supplies, etc)

Owner, Marilys is very nice and accomodating and gives super useful details about amenities and attractions and had a nice attention for us as we arrived. I recommend this nice spot!

While our group was unable to rent this place due to overlap dates, Mariyls was very communicative and helpful in trying to accommodate our group which was much appreciated. Hopefully next year we'll be able to rent this lovely place.
