Secluded, sunny cottage with great access to town

We spent Thanksgiving week at sunny Hodgdon Cove Cottage and would recommend it highly. It had everything needed for a multi-generational gathering. We found fire wood for a toasty fire on chilly Maine nights, close proximity to several beautiful hikes, and kid-friendly books & toys. Adults had quiet nooks to read, and internet access provided necessary work-connects. The kitchen was well-appointed, accommodating way too many cooks! The new master suite is lovely & beds were comfortable. The home had a quiet seclusion & feeling of genuine safety but was just minutes from town & the grocery store, shops & great restaurants. (Try McSeagulls for lobster as well as great vegetarian dishes.) The owners have a generosity of spirit & were attentive to our needs before we asked. We found extra bunk beds in the large upstairs bedroom. Try to get there in daylight as we had a bit of trouble finding the house. It's just off the main street & down a little lane. Family members came from New York City, Denver, San Diego...and agreed it was exactly the respite and retreat we needed.
