Guestbook comments from the manager
This cottage was perfect! The hosts were warm and kind and helpful in providing suggestions for activities and restaurants, and attending to any needs we had there. A lovely, well-equipped cottage made our stay a terrific one. A short walk to the beach on the Cape side was a bonus. We would return again and again...
We inherited this property from Carl's parents who built it as their retirement home in 1964. Now our son lives with us and helps to maintain the property. We had previously owned Gutsy Benders Restaurant in Wellfleet and are now retired. We have four sons who pitch in to help when necessary. Carl is a professional Keyboard player and frequently plays in and around Wellfleet.
Heatherhill was named by Carl's parents because when it was built the only sign of life on this hill was a field of Heather. Carl's dad believed the location offered protection from water damage should there be a hurricane or astronomical tide. The hill also offered a lovely view of Wellfleet Harbor and our gorgeous sunsets.
There can't be enough said about the peacefullness afforded by living here. Hummingbirds, woodpecker, etc. call this home. Should we have the desire we can walk from our home into the ctr. of Wellfleet. Every evening there is a breathtaking view of the sun setting.
