Restored and renovated, charming 1880 antique home in a quiet and convenient in-town location. This wonderful home is a short 5-minute walk to Wellfleet Center, the harbor and town beach, Uncle Tim’s Bridge, and Cape Cod’s best library. Only a short ride to Wellfleet’s best ponds and a 5-minute drive to the ocean. This home has been tastefully restored and thoughtfully furnished with comfortable beds and couches, relaxed antiques, and new kitchen appliances. The first floor has a living room, kitchen/dining area, a large master bedroom with a queen bed and full bath. The second floor has a queen bedroom, a twin bedroom and a reading room (suitable to use as a spot for a portable crib) and a full bath. There is a spectacular screened porch, a large deck and an outdoor shower. The backyard is home to a cute little shed ('The Shack') which is a great playhouse for kids or a quiet place to read. The property is available for rental all year.

Wellfleet is one of the most charming and interesting towns on Cape Cod; it's the village that franchises forgot. The town is filled with charming art galleries, unique shops, wonderful restaurants (featuring world famous Wellfleet oysters), the best library on Cape Cod, several cinemas (including one of the few remaining drive-in theatres in NE), and a high quality theater. Natural beauty is everywhere. All of the Wellfleet ocean beaches are within the National Seashore boundaries, there are many clear kettle ponds for swimming, a wonderful Audobon Center and trails, ample opportunity for biking, sailing, fishing. Our property is a 5 minute walk to downtown Wellfleet, the harbor, public tennis courts, a children's playground and sports fields. The Cape Cod Baseball league has frequent games in Chatham, a 20 minute drive.

I rented this house based on it's location for the first week in July. I was traveling with my husband and two children (ages 4 and 5). We enjoy staying in town so we can walk to restaurants and ice cream shops. This location ended up being ideal. The house is almost a half mile from 'Kid Beach', a playground, and ice cream. My kids were able to walk the distance with no complaining and they really enjoyed the evening activities. The house is located on a quiet and peaceful street.
The house was immaculate when we arrived. The layout is nice and the decor is very tasteful and comfortable. The screened in porch is large and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. The owners are very kind and accommodating - all questions were answered accurately and I had a sense they genuinely wanted us to have a great time. We are considering renting again for next year's vacation.
