Charming, completely renovated 3 bedroom cottage on South Lake Leelanau. Check out the newly expanded deck and sleeping gazebo. There is a beautiful new kitchen and an outdoor shower.

Cozy Bay offers private, pastoral views across this beautiful lake. There's a firepit at the lake edge for sunset viewing and marshmallow toasting. Very kid/family friendly with lots of fun activities in nearby Sutton's Bay, Leland, Cedar, Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore. Veronica Valley, a newly established county park, is within walking distance.

The cottage is situated on a private road off #641, 4 mi. south of the village of Lake Leelanau. Privately owned and operated.

Why The Owner chose Lake Leelanau

I bought Cozy Bay Cottage in May of 2006. I love 'The Leelanau' peninsula! It reminds me a bit of Point Reyes in northern California.

I think it has something to do with rolling hills free of development and stunning vistas of distant blue water.

What makes this cottage unique

Finding my way along back country roads reminds me of another era. The peace and quiet harks back to a simpler time which is how I think of my childhood in the 1950's. People here are less in a hurry than they are even in Ann Arbor which is not a big city. And I love how everyone who lives here knows or is related to everyone else. Of course the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore is incomparable. One must see it to appreciate it.

Quiet and accomodating

My husband and I rented Cozy Bay Cottage in October 2011 and it was just a little dream of a place. Very comfortable inside, and the back deck was great to sit out in the mornings and eat dinner at night. The outdoor shower was very liberating I must say, had a spa-like feel to it. Sunsets were hard to beat.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Just returned from a week stay. Everthing was once again very clean and well mantained.Beautiful sunsets and just a hint of the fall colors, A very relaxing week. Highly recommend this property.

We live near Cozy Bay Cottage and know this beautiful region intimately. Having visited and stayed at dozens of other cottages in the area, we know what is "out there". Cozy Bay is the nicest rental we have found. It is clean, modern, nicely furnished and well equipped. The lake is beautiful and perfect for all recreational activities. The central location in Leelanau County makes it a short drive to all amenities including Lake Michigan beaches, several nearby wineries, dozens of great restaurants and (if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful lakeside setting) great shopping, food and entertainment in Traverse City - a twenty minute easy drive. It is a great spot for spring cherry blossom tours as well as autumn wine tours. We are now renting again in July and August. Out of a possible five stars, we give it a perfect rating. If there were more stars, they would go to Cozy Bay. In a word, it is "perfect".

Exceptional Rental

We have been vacationing in the Traverse City area for over 40 years and have rented cottages all over the area. This is the cleanest most well decorated and maintained property we have stayed at on our trips. The view and sunsets are spectacular. Every thing you need is availible. We highly recommend it.
