If you want a great vacation on a beautiful pristine, pink sandy beach with very friendly people, then St. Georges's Cay, Spanish Wells, Bahamas is the vacation for you. The island is 2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. The beaches are very private and you can walk the full 2 miles and never pass anyone. We are dedicated to giving you the best vacation for your money. The beach and stores are only a 2 min stroll from the cottage. The store will deliver your groceries for free. The beach is great for shelling. The flats are known for their bone fishing. It also has great snorkeling. We are family friendly and have provided necessary items for children. Fishing tours, golf carts, and jeeps rentals are available should you want them. The backyard provides you with chairs to lounge in and a barbecue to grill your catch of the day. It is air conditioned for your comfort. Spanish Wells is just off North Eleuthera. ***You will need to fly into airport code (ELH). That is your final destination.*** It is a 30 minute plane ride to Nassau. It is a 2 1/2 hour ride to Nassau on the fast ferry, The BoHengy. Spanish Wells is clean, has a 2 /12 mile beautiful walking beach. The flats of Spanish Wells are known for their bone fishing. You can snorkel, bicycle ride, walk, deep sea fish, hike, swim, and shell. Spanish Wells is the safest vacation you can take. There is no crime and you can let your children run free and not have to worry about them at all. We leave our doors open. I have been going to Spanish Wells for many years now and have made many friends. You too can become one of those people. The people of Spanish Wells speak English and the Bahamian Dollar is equal to the American Dollar.

  • The kitchen is set up with anything you need to cook meal. The TV in the bedroom is also set up for games. There is a crib in the outside holding room for a baby. It is air conditioned for your comfort. There are dressers and a closet for your clothing and all linens are provided. There are beach towels so you will need not pack them. The house is very clean and very comfortable. It is on a dead end street and very little traffic. It is a very short 5 minute walk to the beach or a 2 minute bike ride to the beach.

You can fly through Nassau which is sometimes cheaper, or through Fort Lauderdale, Fl. on Contiental which has direct flights daily to North Eleuthera Airport (ELH) We arrange for your Transportation from the Airport to the Spanish Wells Dock, where you are met by our Caretaker who will transport you to the cottage and help you settle in.

A Taste of Paradise

Sea Catch Cottage and Spanish Wells was the perfect getaway for our family (2 adults & 3 small children). The cottage was so inviting and nicely updated with modern décor and all the comforts of home – laundry facilities, satellite TV, DVD player, wireless Internet, BBQ grill and patio, coffee maker and microwave. There were books, board games, bikes for us and our children, sand toys, snorkel gear, beach towels, and even a pack-n-play and high chair for our youngest.

From the moment we arrived on the island, the caretakers and locals were friendly, helpful and greeted us with open arms. People brought us fresh banana bread and fish to grill, invited us to go snorkeling on their boat and even invited us to join them for dinner at a local restaurant.

The beach is breathtaking and only a short bike ride away. We seldom saw anyone else on the beach; it was like having our own private white-sand beach. The water is the most amazing turquoise blue color; it is calm, warm and so clear that you can see your toes several yards from the shore!

The grocery store is just down the hill and has everything you need. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a quaint little bakery with fresh breads and a cool drive-up homemade ice cream spot called Papa Scoops.

We highly recommend Sea Catch Cottage and Spanish Wells for families truly looking for a relaxing, quiet, home away from home to lounge and play. We can’t wait to go back!

Sea Catch Cottage visit

Sea Catch turned out to be a really comfortable cottage for our needs. We were three people, with my mother-in-law using the pullout to sleep on. It was very well equipped with even saran wrap and all soaps available in the cottage. Everything was in working order but I can't think four people would be happy in the unit; it is best suited to two or three adults. Having access to the bikes was a real bonus; we used them daily and saw everything we needed to see on the island. The cottage is located very close to the grocery store and the Royal bank which proved very good as we did a lot of cooking at the house and bought a lot of groceries. The area is VERY quiet and we never were bothered by sound or traffic. It is a seven minute walk to the beach and we especially liked the wireless internet. It was very clean and represented as we found it. Spanish Wells is VERY quiet; there is not a great deal to attract/entertain you and the restaurants are at best OK but for us this was it's attraction. As you can read we would recommend this property and enjoyed our stay there.
