Isle Giudecca Vacation Rental apartment: Giudecca

My 5 friends and I have just returned from a week in this lovely apartment having had the most fantastic time in Venice. Having read the description of the apartment and seen the photos our expectations were high. Not only were these met - they were exceeded! It was spotless and more than adequately equipped. Getting there was easier than we thought with the bus from Treviso airport (10 euro rtn) and the water bus from Piazzale Roma to Palanca where we were met by Monica and escorted the short 5 minute walk to the apartment. We found the house notes in the apartment invaluable with hints and tips of where to shop and eat. The apartment was also full of useful literature ranging from simple maps and guide books to Italian dictionaries and art books. The views from the altana were stunning and we even watched a firework display from there one evening which was spectacular although we had no idea what the event was. Guidecca was much quieter than Venice although only 5-10 minutes away by water bus/taxi and it was lovely to return there to peace and tranquility each evening after a busy day sight-seeing. We also tended to have dinner in the restaurants on Guidecca which were a bit cheaper than Venice and the food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. For 5 of us this was our first trip to Venice but we would definitely go back. We would all recommend this apartment to anyone as the location, service and facilities were second to none.
