Who is Jenny?:
Jenny Cirone moved to Addison when she was three years old and her father was assigned to be the lighthouse keeper of Nash Island Light, at the head of Eastern Harbor. She grew up on Nash with her eight brothers and sisters, living off the land, and befriending the sheep her family kept on the island. At the age of ten Jenny was lobster fishing from her small boat, tending and hand-hauling 85 traps around the island. After marrying she and her husband built their small farm house in South Addison, but Jenny never lost her connection to Nash Island, which became her island and home to a hundred island sheep, specially bred to produce long, lustrous wool sought after by specialty spinners. Jenny was beloved and admired as an open-hearted, hard working fisherman who knew more than just about anyone about the fishing waters and care of sheep. Her door was open to all, with the coffee pot or a full dinner offered at the drop of a hat. Her 'pets' are sheep she rescued on the Island.
