A delightful retreat to the shores of the Hudson!

Serene. Tranquil.
These would be the first two words that pop into my head describing our stay at River Terrace. My wife and I are former New Yorkers, and spent nearly ten years in the city before leaving to work abroad. I spent three years commuting regularly to IBM Watson, so I am familiar with the Westchester area, its train lines, and the quiet settlements that dot the Hudson river's eastern banks as it meanders its way towards the New York Bay.
When I decided to have a reconstructive knee surgery done at the Westchester Medical Center, we decided that we would rather stay in a vacation rental in the area than pay for a hotel for the week. After a fairly thorough canvassing of other options in the area, we decided on River Terrace as the clear winner. Sara was a lovely host, and we found everything to be clean and functional. The wireless internet access was reliable and fast. The location is very convenient, a ten minute walk from the Hudson river Metro North train line Greystone and Hastings-on-Hudson train stations, and a 30 minute ride into downtown Manhattan. My wife enjoyed several runs on the trailway with access points less than a 100 meters from the house.
We enjoyed ordering takeout from Tangerine (Thai) and a local Mexican food in Yonkers. We also enjoyed a spent night dining at Comfort in Hastings-on-Hudson. The local restaurants are of good quality and well-priced.
We would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Convenient location. Very clean. Excellent value.
Cons: The apartment does not have a completely separated second bedroom (access to the main bedroom is through the second). However, it does comfortably sleep 4 as described and could quite easily sleep 5 on a couch in the den. We heard some noises from the house above during the evening and the trains passing hourly along the rail line near the river, but we doubt either would bother any but the most sensitive of guests.
