Lorraine & Bill:
Diane, Megan, Lindsey and I had a great time! Your place was great. I told my wife she did great finding it. Cowpet Bay is beautiful. We took a day sail snorkeling at St. John and St. James. Took the car over to St. John and spent time snorkeling at Trunk Bay, then drove down and had lunch at Skinny Legs. My wife and kids fell in love with the wild donkeys.
Just a great 5 days! We're already talking about the next trip. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us.
My husband, two teenage sons and I just got back from a week stay at Bill and Lorraine's condo. I searched for many hours to find the right location for this vacation and these accommodations did not disappoint. The pictures provided are exactly what you get. It truly is a slice of paradise. Convenient to the Elysian resort, you can take advantage of all the amenities the resort has to offer just steps from your door. We rented snorkel gear for the week, enjoyed the beautiful beach, enjoyed the pool, and ate dinner all on the property. We also booked a snorkel sailing trip from the property concierge and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We rented a car which I recommend if you don't mind driving on the mountainous and curvy roads. We had no problems and enjoyed exploring the island every day. We took the car over to St. John and went to Cinnamon Bay for more swimming and snorkeling (A local recommended over Trunk Bay due to crowds and no fee to enter.) We rented our car from L & L Car Rentals which I was a little nervous about based on some of the prior postings, but we had excellent customer service from them and no issues. The car was brand new and had only 5000+ miles on it. Another highlight to our trip was an evening drive up to Drake's seat to watch the sunset. (Could not see it fully set from there, but the sky was so beautiful and the changing colors on the water made the view from there superb.) Based on a recommendation from one of the locals also enjoying the view, we drove down to Hull bay and ate famous fish tacos at a little outdoor bar/restaurant. It's a little out of the way, but a great find. We also ate at Fat Turtle which was fine; no complaint about the food or service, but much prefer the Hull Bay experience to this more touristy kind of place. We went to Megan's Bay, Coki Beach and Sapphire Beach really liked Sapphire Beach for swimming and snorkeling, but Cowpet Bay was a much better place to actually stay. We could have stayed just at this location for the week and been perfectly content, but we love to explore and that's what we did, but this condo was the perfect home base. We highly recommend it!
The unit was very nice with a perfect location perfect overlooking Cowpet Bay with the boats/ships moored offshore. Loved sitting on the balcony. The condo certainly lived up to our expectations. Access to the beach and pool at Elysian was very convenient. Was nice that the beach seemed to be mainly used by people staying there, not overrun by cruise passengers or others like is the case at Sapphire or Coki beaches. Would certainly stay at this unit again if/when we return to St. Thomas.
We had a great vacation here. It's so beautiful and clean, can't complain about anything about it. Strongly recommend it!
We had a great time there, can't complain about anything. It's beautiful and clean, we enjoyed it so much. Strongly recommending it!!
My husband and I have been enjoying the past month at Waters Edge Villa, and we have loved every second of it. The condo it self is clean and well appointed with flat-screen TV's and all amenities. The views are unbelievable - the pictures here really don't even do it justice, believe it or not. The ocean glistens outside every window, and the different color blues are stunning. Even in August, the breezes keep the balcony very comfortable. We have stayed in Cowpet Bay Villas before, and this one has the BEST location within the complex. The view cannot be beat, and the walk to the beach is quick and easy. There is a back-up generator for this unit, which is a real plus. The power went out once while were were here (a very common occurrence on the island), and the generator kicked in right away so that we were up and running within 60 seconds. This adds a great comfort level while you are on vacation - power is never a worry (can't say the same for other condos on the island). The location of the complex is ideal, since it is a 5 minute drive to Red Hook - a great little town with grocery stores, and MANY fun bars and great restaurants. The ferry dock is also in Red Hook, so we enjoyed a trip to St. John while we were here, and it was a very easy trip. We have been trilled with our stay here, and I would highly recommend Waters Edge to anyone who is looking for a beautiful condo, right on the beach, with the best location on the island!
Last week my girlfriends and I spent a week at this lovely villa. I can't say enough about the view from the balcony or the furnishings inside.Wonderful artwork! We were in paradise! Cowpet Bay is just secluded enough to feel extremely private and luxurious. We spent the week snorkeling and enjoying the nearby town of Red Hook. Snorkeling was excellent right outside the villa but we also went to Sapphire Beach and Secret Harbor, both also very good.
Latitude 18 is a local restaurant you can't miss, difficult to find but worth the effort.
We can't wait to return.
