As this was our first experience in villa/condo rentals verses hotels both my wife and I were both apprehensive about what to expect. As cleanliness is our #1 one priority for any return stay (my wife and I will walk around in our socks for a few hours to see if the floors/carpets are clean – that gives us a good indication about the sheets, toilets and services), we were both presented a class “AAA” facility.
Everything was clean and in working order.
As this was a gated community, 1 week prior to our arrival the owners sent us the gate badge and door keys. We were at the Water Edge Villa, Unit # 28. There was no check-in process, front desk or lobbies to worry about. Just go to the condo, open the door and enjoy. We had our own private entrance and could come and go without elevators or hallways. The left side went to our car, the right to the beach, simple.
Each condo had an assigned parking space which made parking easy. After arrival we went shopping at a food center that was approx. 10 minutes from our condo.
For 1 week we experienced a condo that had all the charm of St. Thomas and the conveniences of home. Cowpet Bay and beach was right off the extra large terrace with wicker furniture. My wife and I spent many hours on the terrace during the evening enjoying the Leeward breeze. Two of the nights Mother Nature presented us with a full moon on the bay. In fact, the master king-size bedroom has sliding-glass doors that look out toward the bay.
The condo can accommodate 4 adults without a problem. The community was kept clean and was quit in the tropical evening. A day after arrival the owners called us to make sure everything was in order.
You have access (5 minutes walk) to a beautiful large swimming pool and a clean beach in front. Both the pool and beach area is a 5 minute walk from the condo. The pool was spotless and the beach had plenty of palm trees/chairs and sunshine.
There is a restaurant right on the beach called “Roberts”. - try the She Crab Soup and stuffed Lobster.
They are open for lunch and dinners, and offer pool side service.
As my wife and I are, the fly and drive type, we rented a Jeep for a week and enjoyed free wheeling around the island.
Based on our experience our stay at the Water Edge Villa was flawless and I would recommend the condo to anyone as a place to unwind and enjoy the sun.
