This two story little red cottage sits right on the shores of serene and pristine Lake Chateuagay in the northern Adirondacks. It has been recently updated to include a full bathroom, a generator for electricity, and a lovely upstairs bedroom with a dormer overlooking the water. Adjacent to the house is a very private large open lawn area, great for soccer games or volleyball, where there is a boat dock, a swimming raft, and a gradual sandy swimming beach, great for kids.

Chateaugay Lake is a great place to get away from it all--no phone, no computers, no pavement--a great private setting on a gorgeous lake known for excellent fishing. The lake is clean and clear, great for canoeing, kayaking, or, if you bring a boat, water skiing and tubing. The house comes with use of a rowboat, canoe, and kayak.

Great day trips include: Montreal (90 miles) , Lake Placid (about an hour), and lots of great hikes and boating outings. The high peaks area of the Adirondacks is about an hour away.

  • Upstairs bedroom--queen bed, overlooks lake, shadows of the sun on the lake dance on the beams of the ceiling on a clear day. Outside the bedroom is a landing, good for a kid's mattress when they want to be near parents. Downstairs--a double bed and a single are together in a bedroom/living space. The other two bedrooms are screened in porch rooms--all the comforts of the house, with fresh air and the lapping of the lake waves on the rocks as background sound.
