Ideal for Family or Friends - Cacimar House - Pool, Privacy, Views, Location

For over 20 years my husband and I have been renting vacation homes for our annual trip to Vieques. In 2009 we discovered Cacimar House, by far the best. This beautiful home, which sits high on a hill, is tastefully furnished, very well appointed and immaculate. The owner, Charlie McKee, is responsive and involved. The caretakers, Paul and Ricci, are friendly, informative and efficient.

My favorite room is the screened sun-porch off the master bedroom which is the perfect place to curl up with a good book.

Whether watching the sunset from the outdoor patio or enjoying a swim in the lovely pool, you can gaze across the sea to glimpse Fajardo and Culebra in the distance. Heaven!

However, behavioral data is even more meaningful than words, and we'll be returning for our third straight annual visit in March 2011.

We found Cacimar House met our family's needs perfectly.The location provided wonderful views and cooling breezes. No need for air conditioning whatsoever. We enjoyed the fruits of the papaya and key lime trees. The porches, decks and pool gave us ample outdoor spaces to enjoy in both sun and shade. Everybody enjoyed the friendly resident cat. The house itself is adequately and comfortably appointed in a casual West Indies style. The master bedroom, bath, porch is particularly spacious. Everything worked. We grilled out one evening and prepared breakfast and/or lunch there most days. THe kitchen is well supplied. Most days we loaded up our rental car with beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, umbrellas, reading material and cooler all provided by the house and drove to a spectacular beach for several hours. They are all spectacular in one way or another. We were able to get snorkelling gear in Isabel Segunda. We were told by everyone we talked to before going that we needed to stay in Esperanza but were unable to secure accommodations there. After visiting I would do it the same. We all preferred the closer proximity to Isabel Segunda. Less touristy but more businesses all located close by. We enjoyed meals at Blue Crab, Coconuts, Coqui Fire and El Quenepo (5 stars) especially. Ricci , the property manager was waiting for us when we arrived and helped us get oriented quickly to the house and Isabel Segunda. We all agreed we would come back to Vieques and Cacimar House.
