Lovely Mid-Coast ocean waterfront cottage with dock

With a whimsical spirit and an absolute tidy demeanor this cottage is a "keepsake"...We came for our 30th anniversary and have since decided to return again next year. This cottage is so centrally located to all the scenic by-ways, lighthouses and popular harbors- like Boothbay. Visiting the lovely villages of Camden, Darmariscotta and Newcastle are "must sees". Truly, a chef's paradise, the kitchen is well-equipped for successful dinning at home. We recommend going to Wallace's Lobster Company in Friendship to purchase fresh lobsters-they even recommend using sea water to cook them. If you want to dine out- take your pick: Thomaston Cafe or "Red's Eats" in Wiscasset both within a short drive. The owner promptly communicates with clients and provides an additional resources about the area. I believe the owner desires to treat her quests to an unforgettable visit to Maine and she succeeds. If you are looking for those desired amenities in a vacation home choosing the perfect place to stay in Maine just got easier! We are in love with Maine. You will be too!!

Pictures just cannot do this place justice--it is sooo beautiful! We just returned from a week in this home and touring around this part of the Maine coast from Boothbay Harbor to Camden. The house, grounds, and dock are all so lovely. We started each day having our coffee on either the dock or the screened-in porch watching the lobster boats pull their traps in the bay right in front of us. It was so peaceful and colorful as to be almost surreal--if you tried to paint a picture with the colors in the sunsets across that bay, no one would believe it! The house is extremely well outfitted, the beds are comfortable, and the price is perfectly reasonable. I loved beautiful Friendship Harbor even more than some of the larger ones! You can buy fresh lobster right off the boats there, and the kitchen at the cottage comes complete with lobster pot! Everyone we met in the area was friendly, and the owner has been most helpful and easy to work with. I would definitely do this again, and hope to have that opportunity some day! If you want to stay right in the middle of the action, this place may not be for you--but if you want a peaceful, restful, clean and beautiful place with all the dining, shopping, and sightseeing you could wish for within short and beautiful drives in either direction, then this place is for you!! I loved it!!

We have rented this property 3 yrs. running, and have reservations for '10. Truly a lovely, airy, and immaculate cottage- incomparably sited on Muscongus Bay. The former lobster pound at rear of cottage, has tides, and hosts heron and sea birds. Water sunsets can be viewed from nearly entire first fl. and much of 2nd fl., also from the screened room, and the large dock. The first floor is very spacious and comfortable, with both fireplace, and woodburning stove in 'open' lvn/dn room. The kitchen is gorgeous, and very well equipped. The den is a great additional informal space. There are multiple sliding doors, bringing outdoors in. We are so anticipating returning to this home away.
