I grew in PA and after the blizzard of '96 and taking 2 days to dig my car out of the driveway I said, 'I'm outta here!' I moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where my family visited twice per year since I was born. Of course when you live at the beach & walk on the beach every morning, you don't got there on vacation. I found Maggie Valley and started camping here off the Blue Ridge Parkway. When I was ready to invest in property, I just couldn't find the right fit, so started looking at land, and just loved the subdivision. In 12/05 the Nut House was complete and I used it as a second home. Like so many of us transplants here, I fell in love with the mountains and hated leaving each time I drove back to Myrtle Beach. I thought, life is too short, just do it! So I moved up here with my fur babies & they love it as much as I do! We now rent out the Nut House and live in the home I built a few years ago. Best move I ever made!
Peaceful serene area with excellent expansive mountain views, so many trails, waterfalls, creeks, etc., all within the subdivision. Remote, yet close in to amenities. Neighbors are nearby but not too close & always there to lend a hand!
So close to everything, yet remote area. Excellent mountain views, just 2/10 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway once you get the 1.2 miles out to Hwy 19. The elk have migrated here to within just a few miles of the Nut House and can be seen at all times of the day, but mostly at dusk at the same special spot most evenings to graze. Majestic creatures so close. Directions to special spot are supplied upon rental.
