Our New "Home away from Home"

From the moment we walked into this cozy and inviting cottage, we felt completely relaxed and at home, and knew that we had made a perfect decision in choosing to rent it for our vacation. It is immaculately clean, very tastefully decorated, and, very important to us, so quiet! Close to everything? Yes. But it sits off the street (you take a little brick-lined path to get there!) and we felt as though we were in our own little private get-away.
The pictures actually don't do it justice; in person, it is much warmer - cozier - than the pictures indicate, and the upstairs loft/bedroom is fantastic!
The cottage is the ideal place for two people, which can be very difficult to find in Rehoboth: rentals for large groups seem to be everywhere - for an amazing amount of cash! When we shared with friends the amazing price of the cottage - for a week - with equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a/c, beautiful landscaping, private courtyard, super-comfortable bed (I could go on and on) - they were amazed - and quite jealous.
The owners, Ruth and Leti, were fantastic to work with; they answered all questions, made great suggestions for things to do, had a binder there filled with tourist pamphlets and restaurant fliers, provided a parking pass, and were very prompt in returning our deposit.
We already inquired for next year, but they very politely asked that they be allowed to schedule their time there first!! Well, that seems only fair!
Our only suggestion is for people who may not know Rehoboth Beach, and that is that if you want some really fantastic dining and entertainment experiences, you will have to get off of Rehoboth Avenue at times and find the smaller, out-of-the-way places. For food: Eden on Baltimore Ave., Espuma on Wilmington Ave, Lily Thai on N 1st St., and Lupo Di Mare and The Cultured Pearl both on Rehoboth Ave., although the service at the Pearl was not very good the night we were there.
For fun and good food, go to Rigby's Bar and Grill, also on Rehoboth Ave. Be sure to go when the sing-along piano bar is hoppin'! It is a blast!! Blue Moon is fun too!
Late-night munchies? Grub Grocery makes a great sandwich and is a 3 or 4 minute walk from the cottage; also a good place for beach food/ice supplies in the morning.
To stock the kitchen at the cottage, Super Fresh is by far the finest grocery store in the area. Stop there on your way in, buy your groceries for the week, and you are set!
Come on Summer 2010!!
