High Rock Cottage

This is an open spaced airy cottage with lots of light, yet it is cozy. The kitchen, with all appliances in good shape (washer-dryer location also) greets you as you walk in the front door. The living room with a working fireplace, comfortable sofas and long wooden dining room table off to the side, is very attractive. So is the deck which can be accessed through a sliding door and gives great views of the Seaward Inn cottages and the ocean. There is one bedroom on the first floor and a room (now used as a library) which I used as a second bedroom for my grand son's crib. It is a spacious, airy room like the rest of the cottage is. On the first floor there is a half bath - which worked well for my daughter and son-in-law. The second floor is like a loft which looks down on the living room. My cat spent most of her time curled up there because from that spot she could see what was going on in the whole house - watch the birds hopping about the deck on the first floor, hear the ocean and listen to the breezes. The loft, by the way, is very safe for young children, etc. There is a rail, unobtrusive, but impossible to climb over, through, or under. The Master bedroom and a guest bedroom and a full bath is up in the second floor loft. I found the master bedroom very comfortable, great mattress, big open closet.
Because this cottage is literally built on granite (thus High Rock is its name) be prepared for a climb of well maintained steps to get you to the front door! This cottage would be a delight to live in summer or winter. I can imagine sitting before the fire in the living room during the winter months on that very comfortable sofa!
