Browns Creek is an awesome log cabin on a beautiful creek backing up to a mountain. Lots of hemlocks and rhodos so its always green even in the winter. It's private and has a lovely wooded view with a noisy creek. We have a stacked stone fireplace, fully stocked kitchen and a wine cooler. We also have a new air condition system put in for those two days that might need air for a few hour and a great sitting porch, front and back with wrap around decking. Ceiling fans, large baths. Original oils and oriental rugs and comfortable furniture and beds

Browns creek is in a private area that is easy to get to without a four wheel drive....you are six miles from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt. Mitchell golf Club.......you are within an hours drive to Asheville, Mt Mitchell, Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Blowing rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Hot Springs where you can water raft and get a massage afterwards and sit in the hot springs......there are great restaurants in this area.....there is horseback riding nearby, the south toe river which reports to have the best trout fishing in the mountains.....the river is two miles away.......hiking, golf, antiquing, fine dining!!! Little Switzerland is 20 minutes away, a few miles away is emerald mining!!!............get away from it all but not too isolated!! honeymoon, family or the GIRLS or GUYS just getting away.................

  • The master has its own bath and the upstairs bedrooms have a bath........both baths are nice and large.

  • Master bedroom has a queen and guest upstairs has a queen.......two twins in the third bedroom......the loft has a high rise that will open to a king size if put together.....all rooms are nice size with tiny decks outside the door....There is a lovely wrap around deck and views to the creek which is 20 feet away. pets are no longer allowed at browns Creek In March we are getting a air hockey/tennis table which will be very nice. That is our new addition and a new swing near the creek.

Notes: Browns creek retreat is a beautiful comfortable cabin with oriental rugs, wine cooler, wrap around deck and a nice creek.........near golfing and entrance to the parkway.........so peaceful and beautiful scenery, horse back riding, fishing is only two miles away........south toe river......one of the best trout rivers. Mt. Mitchell golf Club is one of the top 100 on the east coast and has a lovely dining room. We are also 7 miles to the parkway! Its a great area. There is also a wolf reserve in bakersville and a lavender farm with lots of animals and a lovely gift shop up the street. Mt. Mitchell is a beautiful drive. You are close to Asheville and Linville, Little Switzerland. Its very centrally located. Burnsville is a lovely mountain town. There are nice places to dine in the area but its not city busy. There is fishing, horse back riding, tubing, shopping in the area.

Browns Creek is a great get away for listening to nature and the great creek out back.......but you are near enough to get to town to shop, dine, golf, easy entrance to the parkway........Asheville is a great day trip.......shopping, Biltmore Estate, antiquing, dining.....some great dining in the city but relaxing getting back to our lovely log cabin with everything to make you comfortable...........fall asleep to the sound of the creek.........for the person who likes to relax watching TV, there is a great flat screened 35 inch TV with DVD and VCR..........relaxing on the comfortable sofa at night with your tea or wine........with the lights on and the view of the creek......enjoy!!!

Mountain farm is six miles from the cabin. They have goat petting, goat cheese, lavender fields. The first week in august Burnsville has a famous crafts fair. It is the first Saturday in August. Crafts people from all over the south come. Its a great weekend!!!

Chalet Restaurant in Little Switzerland is a great restaurant and oh so fun!!! there are many gift shops up there with hand crafted jewelery and much more. Mountain View Restaurant is another fun restaurant with an awesome view!! Hilltop restaurant in Burnsville is an old favorite with good food. Grassy Creek Country club in Spruce Pine has a very nice restaurant and if you forgot your wine and beer you can purchase it there. Yancey county is a dry county so bring your beer or wine with you. And don't forget Brunch at the Grove Park Inn..............so yummy and beautiful!!!

Ski: Wolf Laurel in Mars hill near Asheville is the closest resort. There are many around an hour away. Hawksnest ski resort , sugar mountain, Beech mountain in Banner Elk. We are an hour from Linville and a little over to Boone and Blowing rock.

Golf: Mt. Mitchell Golf Club is rated as one of the top 100 golf clubs on the east coast from NY to Florida...........its a beautiful course and only six miles from our cabin. The parkway entrance is seven miles.

Other Activities: good restaurants, summer theater, blue ridge parkway is seven miles away
