Browns Creek is a great get away for listening to nature and the great creek out back.......but you are near enough to get to town to shop, dine, golf, easy entrance to the parkway........Asheville is a great day trip.......shopping, Biltmore Estate, antiquing, dining.....some great dining in the city but relaxing getting back to our lovely log cabin with everything to make you comfortable...........fall asleep to the sound of the creek.........for the person who likes to relax watching TV, there is a great flat screened 35 inch TV with DVD and VCR..........relaxing on the comfortable sofa at night with your tea or wine........with the lights on and the view of the creek......enjoy!!!
Mountain farm is six miles from the cabin. They have goat petting, goat cheese, lavender fields. The first week in august Burnsville has a famous crafts fair. It is the first Saturday in August. Crafts people from all over the south come. Its a great weekend!!!
Chalet Restaurant in Little Switzerland is a great restaurant and oh so fun!!! there are many gift shops up there with hand crafted jewelery and much more. Mountain View Restaurant is another fun restaurant with an awesome view!! Hilltop restaurant in Burnsville is an old favorite with good food. Grassy Creek Country club in Spruce Pine has a very nice restaurant and if you forgot your wine and beer you can purchase it there. Yancey county is a dry county so bring your beer or wine with you. And don't forget Brunch at the Grove Park Inn..............so yummy and beautiful!!!
Ski:
Wolf Laurel in Mars hill near Asheville is the closest resort. There are many around an hour away. Hawksnest ski resort , sugar mountain, Beech mountain in Banner Elk. We are an hour from Linville and a little over to Boone and Blowing rock.
Golf:
Mt. Mitchell Golf Club is rated as one of the top 100 golf clubs on the east coast from NY to Florida...........its a beautiful course and only six miles from our cabin. The parkway entrance is seven miles.
