This is a lovely old New England farmhouse nestled on a hill overlooking the village of South Waterford. The property includes five private acres of lawns, gardens and woods, bordered by the village brook. A spring-fed stream runs through the grounds.
The house has lots of light, hardwood floors and high ceilings. There are three bedrooms: one full, one queen, and one with two twin beds. The home also has four walk-in closets and two bright , newly renovated bathrooms
There is a large country eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, sunny living room with wood stove, and study with futon for extra guests. A huge screened-in porch stretches the length of the house in front, overlooking the village church. There is a laundry room and connected workshop, and also a barn for storing seasonal items, such as canoes.
We had an incredible stay at Kerstin's house in Maine. The house was beautiful and HUGE! It was stocked with more than you would ever need and the amenities were amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and Kerstin was fabulous and even allowed us to host a small baby shower at her house which was a perfect house to host such an event. I couldn't say enough great things about this rental! Don't hesitate, rent it! You won't regret it!
We spent Thanksgiving week 2010 in Kerstin's house. It is a very beautiful house. The kitchen has everything! We cooked an amazing Thanksgiving dinner for 6 people in a very large and nicely furnished kitchen. It was a delight for us to find everything we need in the kitchen and also old records in the study
Kerstin is also great. There were fresh flowers waiting for us on the dining table.
Spent a couple of days there in the summer of 2010. Boating in the neighbouring lakes was calm and peaceful, and the house is simply wonderful. Kerstin, the owner, is a darling!
In the heart of Maine's famous Lakes Region, the area is a paradise for boating, fishing and swimming. The town beach on sparkling Keoka Lake is less than five minutes away. In addition there are mountains to climb and beautiful trails for hiking. Hearty home-style cooking, fine dining, antique shops, and North Conway's famous outlet shopping are all within a short drive.
