About this property

Located one half hour drive from Salem, Albany, or Lebanon. Ideal for business travelers or companies looking to host visitors or relocating employees for a short or longer term stay; with weekly or monthly reduced rates available.

Business travel ready with high speed internet via fiber optic cable, spacious comfortable office and fully furnished kitchen. Convenient modern appliances such as Keurig coffee maker, electric tea pot, rice cooker, crockpot, waffle maker, bread machine and more. A Traeger grill is available for your outdoor barbecuing . No smoking or pets allowed.

Guest access

The entire house including deck and gazebo overlooking Bilyeu Creek are available to guests. French doors open to patio access from the master bedroom, the living room, and the office. There is a Traeger grill, picnic table and lawn chairs available for patio enjoyment.

The home is located on our family's privately owned 700 acre tree farm. This ranch was The National Tree Farm Winner in the year 2002. There are lakes, a fish hatchery, and an antique museum to view only with pre-arranged guided tours as optional. It is a working ranch so guests are asked to not wander through without a guide for guests safety as well as respect for owners. Hiking on the gravel roads up the mountain is not advised during logging season. However the neighborhood has ample road ways that many enjoy hiking, jogging, and cycling; which is encouraged in order to enjoy the lovely area.

Interaction with guests

We would love to meet our guests in person and answer any questions that can help make your stay more comfortable. If guests need to arrive at hours we cannot do so, it's quite easy for our guests to enter with our keypad entry at the noted arrival time requested. There is adequate outdoor lighting for late night arrivals. We would love to get a text when you've arrived, and have a plan for a time to meet you when convenient. We'd also appreciate being notified when you are actually closing the door for the ending of your stay. We'll have a house manual with internet access code and other information you'll appreciate having on site for instructions on operating the home. Your hosts live at the next property not five minutes away and are readily available to address any questions or concerns. The homes you share the main driveway with are not your hosts. Please contact us directly, we are happy to accommodate special requests as we can. Weekly cleaning and linen laundry services are available for additional negotiable fees.

Other things to note

Master bath includes jetted tub, enclosed shower and large walk-in closet with linens and hangers included. Large laundry room with front-loading washer and dryer and craft area. We have an elliptical machine and stationary bike for use in laundry room as well. Kitchen nook table in bay window overlooks water feature. Pantry is initially fully stocked with staples such as coffee, teas, spices, and various condiments, as well as some canned and dry goods. Guests are responsible for pantry restocking for extended stays. The office also has some basic office supplies. A hospitality basket of personal hygiene supplies is available for your needs.

This was a wonderful experience. Everything was very clean, and I enjoyed the calm serenity. We didn't want to leave and decided to stay and rebooked this for another week. Thanks for being such a gracious host...

Wished We Had More Time To Fully Enjoy
Beautiful home and property (especially loved the gazebo overlooking the river/creek), well stocked for a more enjoyable stay, very considerate and thoughtful host. We were visiting local relatives and did not have nearly enough time to enjoy this lovely property.

Home away from home
I can't recommend Maureen's house enough - it's a beautiful house on an idyllic property. The back porch looks out over a tranquil stream with birds chirping - a perfect place to sit and relax with a morning coffee, or grill and eat dinner. The house is immaculate and has everything you need. And the wifi is blazing fast. Maureen and family are hospitable and very responsive. Can't wait to return!

About the host

Hosted by Maureen Bentz

Host profile image
Maureen has a professional background in Restaurant and Hotel Management and a "knack" for guessing people's needs to make them feel at home. She and her husband Clint have been married 35 years and traveled many times around the states and abroad with his consulting work and for pleasure. Clint is a retired CPA and family business consultant, so travels while teaching often. He has an appreciation for the needs of the traveler who wants home away from home. They have raised six children and with the large extended family hosted many events. They purchased the Baron Country Home from their family limited partnership and are excited to offer this beautiful home for business travelers especially. They look forward to pampering you with the comforts of home most enjoyed!

Why they chose this property

Located on a 700 acre forested privately owned national tree farm, the house is nestled in the beautiful Willamette Valley. Oregon has one of the largest collection of covered bridges in the Nation, eight of which are along the Willamette Valley bridge loop in Linn County alone. Scio is the annual home of the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair and NorthWest Championship Sheep Dog Trials every third weekend in May. Check out Albany's Visitor Center or Travel Salem for additional fun information.

There is no public transportation in this lovely rural area. A rental car is your best option. Many folks love the area for running, walking or cycling enjoyment.

What makes this property unique

Such an amazing drive to view the valley as you even approach our home! It's definitely an escape from the normal city feeling, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Tranquilly peaceful creekside view and fresh air, you'll find our home ease you into relaxing just stepping onto the deck out back. It's a perfect hub for working or exploring in the area.
