This property is over 100 years old but has been tastefully and comfortably restored. It is only 20 feet from water. Houses cannot be built that close anymore. It is located on the edge of its own small cove and has a small island, called 'Two Bush Island' that is accessible at low tide. The sun porch that stretches the full width of the house offers an incredible view of the water, only a few feet away. The two bedrooms upstairs offer a cozy retreat. This house is ideal for a couple or a small family. The location adjacent to the water makes it easy to launch a canoe or a kayak. The setting is very private and very beautiful. The rock garden blooms summer long with a variety of flowers. It is an easy drive to town or to the landing for North Haven Island. There are numerous hiking opportunities within a short distance on the many trails maintained by the Vinalhaven Land Trust. The main house ('The Cottage') is separated by a meadow. The Cottage is available under 129097.

Vinalhaven is located in the middle of Penobscot Bay. It is accessible by ferry which winds through the White Islands on its journey to Carver's Harbor on Vinalhaven. The home, called 'Bowsprit Point Guest House' is located on the northern part of the island. It is close by boat to North Haven Island. Vinalhaven has an active artist community. It is also the center of the lobster fishery, with over 200 lobster boats in its fleet. There are many activities ongoing during the summer, from concerts to plays in the town theater on North Haven. Swimming is done in the local fresh water quarries. There are several excellent restaurants on the island.

Exploring Crockett Cove: We have a canoe that you can use to explore the cove. You can go to the headwaters, where there are reversing falls. If you time it right, you can ride the falls in, explore the upper reaches of the cove, and then ride the falls out. While you are there, you will see osprey, , bald eagles, great blue herons and other wildlife.

Tip Toe Mountain: There is a small mountain within walking distance of the house. You can take a picnic lunch, walk to the mountain, and then make an easy climb to the top. The view is spectacular. You get a good look at Crockett Cove from the top of Little Tip Toe Mountain. There is also Big Tip Toe Mountain, that offers a spectacular view of the Camden Hills. This is the place to view the sunsets.

Golf: There is a golf course on North Haven Island, a short ferry ride from Vinalhaven. If you have your own boat, you can easily get to the North Haven landing, and then a short walk to the golf course.
