Unique Location. A two minute walk south to the public beach; two minute walk north to Falmouth Harbor; another two minute walk east to the town baseball, basketball, and soccer fields with ocean views, and finally a two minute walk west to the entrance of Falmouth Harbor with gorgeous views of Martha's Vineyard and Nobska Lighthouse. Then, just a 5 minute walk to the Island Queen and you're off to Martha's Vineyard by ferry. The Woods Hole bicycle path from downtown Falmouth covers 5 miles of beautiful coastal New England with exceptional views of Martha's Vineyard to Menemsha Hills. Downtown Falmouth is a charming village; historic Woods Hole a great day trip. Falmouth is full of restaurants, public golf courses, tennis courts, gift shops, bookstores, and a superb library. Our cottage is one block from the ocean. It has an original farmers wrap around front porch and a spacious, private deck off the back. A simple old cottage with classic charm.

Notes: the first floor is conducive to a wheel chair, as the room layout is flat, there is a first floor bedroom, and the front and back decks have ready access from the first floor. however, there are front steps to deal with and the back deck is raised considerably from ground level. access would have to be from the front of the house.

Enjoy the tradition of sophisticated live jazz music at the Nimrod Club located in downtown Falmouth. Also, the Cape Cod Melody Tent, which routinely books famous performers, is located in Hyannis, which is 1/2 hour by car.

Golf:

The Falmouth Country Club and the Cape Cod Country Club are two excellent public courses within 5 miles of the cottage.

Setting up the rental

This year we searched through many properties and found this lovely cottage. I'm a former Falmouth native so I knew which house it was and the location. Anyway I called Kevin and he spent over 40 min on the phone going over everything and was even going to allow us to bring our dogs! He promptly sent out the detailed and easy to read agreement. He was more than fair with the payments and we were so excited. Unfortunately My father-in-law who was going with us has a occurrence of his cancer so we had to back out. But I highly recommend this cottage based on the attention and kindness of the owner! Next year we will hopefully be able to do this rental.

Wonderful Girls Getaway

My friends and I have been visiting the Cape twice a year for the last 18 years. For the last 5 years we have stayed at Kevin’s cottage. There are six of us and the accommodations are spacious and very comfortable. The house is just one block away from Nantucket Sound and we especially enjoy the view of the water from the very large front porch where we spend many hours talking, laughing and just hanging out. There is also a beautiful walkway along Nantucket Sound that we use daily during our stay.
The cottage is convenient to shopping, great restaurants (you can walk to several), the public beach, which is within easy walking distance, and just about everything else you would want to do. The town of Falmouth is our favorite. It‘s very quaint and there are wonderful restaurants and shops for browsing.
We usually visit in April or May and September or October. The Cape is just beautiful during these seasons. I would recommend this property to any type of group looking for comfort, convenience and accessibility to all ammenities. You’ll have a great time!!

4 Generations, together, on "the Heights".

Yes, 4 generations...my Mom marks her calendar, and plans her year around one week with her two Great Grand Daughters. You notice the porch? That is where the eight of us spend hours...laughing, reading, chatting, reading to "the girls", and reconnecting.

Kevin's cottage is perfect for the group that wants to share time, together. Quaint bedrooms, big dining table, comfortable living room, convenient deck off the kitchen, and super, "outdoor" shower for after-beach clean-up. We have 3 vehicles to bring, and it's no problem...we still have the side yard to play.

Honestly, we are very familiar with other Cape towns, but Falmouth, and "the heights" are special. 2011 will be our third Summer with this house...and we are "booked". We have stayed in the Heights area since 1991, for vacation week/August. Walk to the beach, walk to "the Island Queen", bike to Woods Hole, or the Canal, dine at wonderful restaurants (sometimes we WALK to dinner!!), whatever your group loves to do, Kevin's cottage could be your "home away from home".

The community of Falmouth is "welcoming" to one and all...and I haven't even covered how beautiful the "off season" can be here.

Christmas in August

Having summered on Cape Cod when I was growing up, this was such a special find..we have been taking 2 of our grandchildren (from NJ) on a 'trip' as a Christmas present for the past 6 years..this was our 3rd vacation on the Cape (their favorite vacation) and has was the best! We had stayed in Falmouth at a different location in the past and this was A+. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and the house was everything it said and was just perfect for a summer vacation--close to everything that you want. We have family a 'stone-throws' away, the beach was right there and it was perfect for the children. They were able to bike, play basketball, fish and just roam by themselves independently and not a worry. Would I recommend this property to a friend??--only after I have secured my time for our next vacation!!
