I live mostly in Portland, but spend considerable time in Friendship Maine, and up in The County. I own and manage various types of property thru out the State of Maine. Formerly in the hospitality industry, I strive to make sure the needs of all our guests are anticipated and taken care of, and to provide a peaceful place to get away from it all.
Donna Roggenthien purchased this cabin in 2004
This property allows you to spend time in the north woods of Maine, but have the comforts of being at home. The quiet and peace on the lake are unrivaled.
Having solar panels to provide on demand power, while being so far off the grid is a wonderful bonus. Boats, kayaks etc all provided so you can explore the lake. Completely and well outfitted cabin.
All comforts thoughts of.
I loved it here!! There was always an adventure!! Mother Nature was at her prime. I only wish we had seen a moose, but we did see loons, red fox, and a bald eagle.
Waking up to that view each morning was bliss.
I stayed at Rockabema with 3 - 15 year old boys who never stopped enjoying what the lake had to offer for the entire week. We paddled, and fished, and swam, and cooked, and enjoyed lakeside fires. Bald eagles soared over me while fishing. (I caught my first land locked salmon). The loons called every sun up and sunset.
When the boys were out exploring I relished the incredible peace and beauty.
Such well appointed comfort in such a secluded location. Kudos to the owners for creating such an amazing place.
Easily the loveliest vacation home we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The property was immaculate and the caretakers were friendly and helpful. Everything you could possibly need is provided and no small detail is left to chance. Although we didn't bring children this time, the children's bunk room was beautifully decorated right down to a teddy bear on every bunk! The high quality of all the bedding made for a very restful stay. Rockabema and the surrounding area is a fly fisherman's paradise. Wildlife abounds and we enjoyed hours of peaceful bird watching. The camp also had a great selection of reading material featuring local authors and content. We especially enjoyed the books written by retired local game warden Randall Probert. Those were a particularly wonderful touch which we truly enjoyed. This was a vacation to remember!
Rockabema was wonderful. The setting is perfect, beauty, solitude, and absolute peace. The cabin is great. The first rental I've ever had that the owner has thought of your every need, and I have rented many.
The listing description for this property is accurate. Photos can't fully capture the beauty, peacefulness and interesting character of the cabin and the lake. Nature at it's best! We enjoyed watching loons daily on the lake, enjoying their beautiful calls. Other highlights were kayaking on the lake and observing bald eagles, otters and beaver. The property is very well maintained, clean and well equipped. The owner was easy to work with and provided good customer service. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. PERFECT PLACE TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL!!
I do not normally give rating of excellent but this is one place that needs no changing or improvements. It is perfect just the way it is! This is the most wonderful vacation spot I could have asked for. If you are looking for seclusion, peace and quiet this is the place. Nicely appointed, clean, fresh and just amazing!!!!!! I WILL be going back. Thanks!
