No Necessities and a Health Hazard

Date of Stay: August 2008
I recently stayed here for a week. To start, the BBQ on the back deck was bring your own gas, which was not easy to find on a saturday evening. The home was barely cleaned, not vacuumed or dusted, spider webs everywhere. Besides, there is a note on the fridge to please clean the house for the next guests, even though a cleaning fee was given to the landlord. There were no linens, not even bath mats for the showers, no toilet paper, no paper towels, nothing. By the 3rd or 4th day, everyone in the house was having trouble breathing, and we discovered mildew and mold all over the basement walls. Needless to say, our party left early.
Please heed my advice and stay elsewhere.
Owner's Response: >Dear Future Renters, we are very responsible and conscientious home owners who strive to make your vacation a pleasant experience.
Christopher rented a one week vacation stay at our Cape Cod home, accessed through Cyber Rentals. He signed and became Lessee of our lease agreement. Christopher's party ignored the posted house rules, neglected to place trash for removal, and never alerted us of any discomforts via posted phone number. Christopher left early, leaving other members of his party to stay. We were not made aware of that fact, and did not authorize him to assign custody of our home. The home was left dirty and disorderly; we encountered additional expenses to bring our house back to par. We feel justified in denying the return of the security deposit as our cleaning lady, Megan, called us to report the house had been severely disrespected, that she had to get additional help to both move furniture back to its proper place and finish cleaning the house. She charged us an additional fee. The trash removal service had to make a special trip and charged us an additional fee.
Christopher may post many unsubstantiated accusations under the guidance of this website, however, the fact remains: he was the only legal Lessee; he left without our knowledge, thus, he is not in position to comment upon the manner in which our home was used and vacated.
Thank you for your interest in our home and we look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Phil
