The St. Maarten is one the newest properties on Daytona Beach Shores. This almost 2000 square foot, sunny, open 6th floor unit show-cases panoramic views of the intercoastal waterway, Daytona 500 Speedway, unique architecture, and, of course, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The World famous Daytona Beach is just minutes away with oceanfront shopping and attractions for everyone. This property is Centrally located for easy access to major airports, attractions in Orlando and St. Augustine.
This three bedroom unit is our vacation home, and very comfortably furnished in a casual beach meets Pottery Barn style. A fully-equipped kitchen with granite counters and outdoor dining area too. The large master suite with ocean views and soaking tub give a spa feeling, ready for relaxation. Enjoy amazing sunsets, sunrises too for the early birds, and weekend fireworks, all from the circular balcony.
With this also being our home-away-from-home we have made it walk-in ready to enjoy. A family friendly vacation or a romantic get away, is waiting for you.
I would like to start out by commenting on the previous review from Ohio. The Ohio review could not be further from the truth! This condo was beautiful!!! The owners of the unit were top notch and so kind to meet our every request. The unit was spacious, decorated lovely, updated, and very clean. The view of the ocean and the street side views made us feel like we were in a home and not in a dark tunnel. We also had family staying in several condos in St. Maarten and this condo was of equal or better quality than the other units. We treated the condo as we would have liked to have our own home treated and had NO PROBLEMS GETTING OUR ENTIRE SECURITY DEPOSIT RETURNED. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay and will rent again from this owner when in Daytona Shores Beach. If you are looking for a beautiful place, look no further...THIS IS IT!! The rest of the building's amenities are top notch also and the place is very quiet. We absolutely loved this place!
The following is all imho: do not rent this condo! Your deposit will be kept for petty reasons and without proof of claimed damages! (The place looked as nice when we left it as it did when we came in--we aren't talking about a pristine property either.) The glaring irony that justifies my anger is that the leather headboard of the king bed in the master suite looked as if acid had been spilled down one side when we checked in. I would say that someone else was charged for those damages, but the bed clearly hadn't been fixed or replaced. This makes my blood boil because those of us who rented this condo feel like we were charged over $400 for the owner to pay normal cleaning/upkeep fees on our dime. She had to repaint the walls because of a chocolate handprint (unproven--but really?? repainted??) and to pay for extra cleaning in the kitchen (at $50 an hour) because the counters were dirty and dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher (per the checkout directions), and extra carpet cleaning because food was on the carpet (unproven) when the instructions clearly said there was to be no food on the carpet--well, where else were we supposed to eat when the DINING TABLE IS ON THE CARPET?! We felt set up for losing money at the end.
Bottom line: this condo costs the same amount to rent as other St. Maartens condos. Rent another one! OTHER CONDOS actually view the ocean, have tile floors for easy cleanup, have better furniture, and nicer owners. Of the ten+ condos our family has now rented from St. Maarten, this was the poorest in quality and the only in which we've lost some of our deposit.
The condo is dingy and mismatched, not very appealing; beds are uncomfortable; closet doors are difficult to open and close (and are on the verge of breaking--I'd hate to be the tenant when they do go out!); instructions for checkin/checkout aren't congruent with real expectations; deck is a waste of time (faces pool of another property); VHS players are a joke but you'll be charged for stealing tapes (unproven--who wants to watch a Spongebob VHS tape at the beach?); and you will not be able to relax and have a good time because the owner will call and make sure you're taking care of the place and patronize you until you feel like you should walk on eggshells instead of enjoy your vacation. Worst part: your deposit is at the whim of an unreasonable owner.
St. Maarten is a good condo facility and we will come back, but we will NEVER rent from this person again.
