CONTEMPORARY CHALET, 1.5 MILES TO SKI WINDHAM.

We enjoyed our stay in this nice, four-bedroom house located two minutes from downtown Windham. Joe, the owner of the house, was great to deal with -- quick, accommodating, and VERY helpful. You really get the feeling that he wants guests in his house to have the best experience possible.

The house is very comfortable, with like-new appliances, and lots of room for everyone. We were just two adults and two kids, though it has enough beds for eight to sleep comfortably. Our favorite thing about the house was the wild turkeys that wandered by in the mornings and evenings!

The town itself is small but has good restaurants and shops. We tried several local businesses, and had great meals (for us AND the kids) at Cave Mountain Brewery and Catskill Mountain Country Store. We also bought a delicious pie and lots of jams and other gift items at the Catskill Mountain Country Store. We bought terrific sandwiches to take on a hike at the Creekside Market, and nice meats and other groceries at Todaro's Salumeria. Everyone in the town was super helpful and nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the weekend. The house was fully stocked with everything you could think of, it was very clean and we all slept comfortably. The process of reserving and paying for the rental was quick and easy and any questions I had Joe answered. We are already planning our trip back next year and plan on staying at the house again!

I contacted the owner, Joe, to inquiry this rental on the day my friends and I needed it because the owner of the other property we originally rented called to cancel our rental at the last minute. Joe gave me quick response in both phone call and email and offered this accommodation on my last minute request. It's really a good start. The second thing I like is the payment option for this rental. Unlike many other rentals my friends and I have dealt with in the past years (check or Paypal which takes days to confirm and less security, plus signed paper rental contract required), Joe offers credit card payment option with electronic signature on the rental agreement. It makes the transaction much easier and faster.

The house is big enough for 8 people sleeping comfortably. There are two rooms with two single beds, and two rooms with one full bed. I mention this because some rentals count sofa bed into the number of people they can accommodate but it really is not comfortable to sleep on. The house looks new, all the rooms are very clean with nice paintings decorated and all have drawers/closets. There are two full bathrooms and they're both neat and clean.

My friends and I are also very happy about the kitchen because we have planned to cook most of the meals during our stay. There are a lot of kitchenware and utensil and they're all very clean (looks like new). The kitchen appliances also look like new. We also had BBQ on one of the evening. The outdoor patio is nice equipped with gas grill, table & chairs. The only downside is that the patio torches didn't seem to work (or maybe we don't know how to use it) but we still had lots of fun.

The owner provides good customer service. Joe answered my phone call in the late evening on the first night when we were trying to find the house. He also responded my email promptly.

Overall, my friends and I have good experience staying here for a summer weekend getaway. We would certainly recommend this property to others who plan to stay in the area.
