We had the most "fortunate" week of the Summer, being there was no rain and it was sunny most of the time. The only down side was that it was over 90 degrees every day and the place didn't have air conditioning. The cottage itself does not have great circulation so it was quite the steamy week, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable, even with a fan blowing on you (Bring an extra fan or two if you rent here!) I think we would have been completely miserable if we did not rent a boat. That was the only relief from the heat. We would swim at night just to cool off before going to sleep.
There is not much privacy here, especially with an additional cottage right behind the one we stayed at - probably about 150 feet behind. The dock is shared, and we were glad the others did not rent a boat otherwise it would have been tough docking both on there. The beach is shared between the owners and the two cottages, again, not much privacy. If you like your privacy, this isn't the place for you.
The interior of the cottage was very well kept and very clean and nicely decorated. It is an open floor plan with a king size bed. The bed itself isn't very comfortable, but I liked the size of it. The couch wasn't that comfortable either, the middle cushion sinks in making it strange to sit on. It is a pull out bed, but that's not comfortable either. The TV gets bad reception and the WIFI didn't work on our new laptop. It is a very nice place, but make sure you have other things to do besides stay in the cottage. The owners are very nice and helpful, and they have very friendly dogs which we liked.
The lake is great. The fishing was OK, we didn't find a prime spot until our last day with the boat, and no, I will not give that secret spot away! The water is clean and the fish taste great.
Overall we had an average stay. Air conditioning would have made it much better.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately this vacationer did not realize that a/c was available for a nominal fee, which was listed in the book provided in the cottage.
The shared dock for both cottages has adequate room for two boats, 1 on either side, so that too would not have been a problem.
Our ad does indicate the property is shared.
