Tempe Vacation Rental villa

Since my wife and I had enjoyed many visits to Tempe in the last 17 years as guests of good friends, it was important to find a place that made us feel we could host those same friends (and members of our family) with the openness and care that we'd known on previous trips. Villa Monzon provided this opportunity with an ease, class and tastefulness that one seldom feels, renting from this distance--in our case over 1500 miles away. We expected the place to be clean, the rooms spacious, the pool warm, shopping handy and we were not disappointed. The neighborhood was easy to feel comfortable in--no trouble finding our way around locally, besides, to and from hiking, golf and restaurants. We'd hiked South Mountain and Lost Dutchman many times, but with more time and familiarity with freeways found new trails in these same rec-areas to explore. A great discovery was the ease with which we could motor up 101 loop, get off in Scottsdale and hike the McDowell-Sonoran Preserve, a beautifully maintained series of hikes over wide stretches of desert hills. We found it was convenient, not only to drive to Bashas /get one of their cards/, but also to walk there over Del Rio, up McClintock and voila . . . to shop--for bread, wine, greens, meat. And nearby is a neat coffee shop--people with lap tops, newspapers, friendly service. We loved eating breakfast outside near the pool; mornings heated up usually by nine-thirty. We could drive to the coffee place, hang out, come back and do the serious early eating while we figured where we'd spend the day. I did a lot of golfing with my oldest son and his lady, who hit further than I did. I'd highly recommend Aquila Golf course in Laveen; I'd played there before and liked it, but on weekdays we found it wide open, very little pressure, either from behind, or in front--no slow play. A key memory: even though we live on Whidbey Island, a paradise in itself /in spring and summer/, you'd be hard pressed to find yourself lying on your back in 85 degree water staring up at the undersides of palm trees anywhere near our place in winter. In short, it was great spending time in a friendly town like Tempe, in a walled in villa like Monzon. A future plan is to bring in at least three of our four sons and their wives at a given time, to maximize the family closeness in this warm environment.

As one of our local friends said, "I could buy this place and move in and be totally happy - just leave all my old stuff behind!". Nicely decorated, updated home in walled community, very private and quiet. Simple, well-maintained, excellent communication with owners, nice linens, amenities as promised. We brought a small child with us (1 yr.) and high chair and Pack n' Play were provided. Only concern is pool right out front door, but we knew this and were vigilant; also front door and entry gate have automatic closure hinges. Easy location to Hwy 202 which links up with all other freeways. Seemed as if nothing was more than 20 minutes away (downtown Phoenix, east Mesa, Phoenix Zoo and downtown Tempe-maybe 5 min.). Would return and would also recommend to friends. Thanks for making our trip back to our old town easy.

Villa Monzon was AWESOME!!! What a great way to spend a four day weekend with all of your best girl friends! The pool was so fun, and the privacy is great! The neighborhood is quiet and never once did any of us six girls feel nervous about the area. We never heard any neighbors, traffic, anything! We spent most of our time out on the patio near the pool, and it was beautiful. The house was clean, and odor free, (which is a big deal to me!) We are already thinking about making our next trip out to AZ. with our spouses, and staying at the Villa Monzon. The golf course is right across the street, and I'm sure the men would love that! Ashley (the owner I believe), was very helpful and was pleasant to work with.
We had a great time, and will stay there again for sure!
