Great Winter Getaway

My three friends and I had a delightful experience renting this luxurious, well-appointed, clean, uncluttered, and very well-maintained house for 3 nights in January. After an inauspicious short winding drive up to the house from the main road past a number of custom-built, suburban-style development homes, it was a treat to enter this house to experience an unobstructed and panoramic view of marsh and ocean from multiple windows in the living room. Two of the four bedrooms also have spectacular views, especially the master bedroom/bath which is accessed from a multi-windowed spiral stair and features its own circular window, private outside deck, and an over-the-top bathroom with jacuzzi set next to more windows. The third twin-bedded room faces the front of the house. The fourth bedroom in the basement is dark and less desirable, but has its own living room. Beddings are distinctive and beautiful. The main living room on the ground floor provides very comfortable seating (2 two-person couches and a rocker with ottoman) grouped around a large flat-screen TV. (There are also small TVs in each bedroom.) The kitchen also has a great view and is very well stocked with every conceivable pot, pan, bowl, spice (including gran masala), and appliance, including a great coffee maker, and the professional stove made it a pleasure to cook and eat at the house. There were plenty of clean white towels and small toiletry items in the bathrooms, as well as bags of snacks at the kitchen counter. The art work is lovely and original. We discovered the board game Apples to Apples, which we had fun playing. The only problem we encountered on our wintry weekend was snow-related: the stairs leading up to house were not shoveled and were quite slippery even after we found a shovel and shoveled them. From the front door it was an easy and lovely walk to the stone breakwater, the marsh, along the residential streets at the East End of Provincetown, and back to this great house to watch a gorgeous sunset.

Owner's Response: We did not know that our new plow service was not shovelling the stairs and walks. They will be taken care of going forward.
