We were in Italy except that it was better known as Boston's North End! The apartment was smack bang in the middle of Little Italy and a food lovers paradise. Very clean and well equipped for a short stay period. Good location to explore Boston from. It would have been helpful for our arrival if closest train station or bus stop could be indicated, but we managed to figure it out ourselves. Unfortunately No personal interaction with owner or representative, you pick keys up in a box and drop them there on departure. System worked well though ,and rate is well priced in the area . The hair dryer was an unexpected addition and very thoughtful for the girls and stylish guys! So no need to pack your own. Try the farmers market close by on a Friday and Saturday ( at Haymarket). We loved cooking our own gourmet meals and the gas stove was fantastic!
Harvard makes a great day trip and you can do the fun filled campus tour- free! For kids of all ages go play with the Robots at the MIT museum.Have a Black and Tan at one of the many Irish pubs- its not on the menu ,so ask for it by name.Don't bother to eat or drink at the "Famous from television" Cheers pub just take your picture with a cardboard of Norm and be on your merry way. Quincy Market is take out heaven , the Clam Chowda is a must! If you are in town during a Blue Man Group show, it is highly recommended- get half price same day tickets at Box tickets on Copley square.
Bostonians are friendly helpful people and it does seem that after a while "everybody knows your name"( borrowed
from Cheers). The subway -better known as the T works very well and if you stay is close to 7 days consider a 7 day pass it works on buses ,trains and boats and is worth every cent.Cleanest subways I have ever seen!
Even though a bit on th small side Chinatown is worth a visit - have dim sum at Windsor Place, great prawn dumplings!
Our first time using home away but definitely not the last! We loved having the freedom of our own apartment .Would be great if you could keep tabs on the owners response times, sometimes a bit on the slow side....
Ps. pastries at Mike's, a block away from the apartment are decadent!!
