This is a traditional 'shingle style' five bedroom cottage with all of the modern amenities associated with a new home. Fireplaces, wood paneling, and other features lend an air of tranquility and tradition. The home has a porch running the entire front of the house facing the cove that provides a pleasant place to enjoy breakfast or read a book. A tower room off of the living room and another tower room in the master bedroom suite provides panoramic views of the cove. It is located on a saltwater cove known as Crockett's River, that connects directly to Penobscot Bay. Penobscot Bay is one of the best sailboat cruising areas in the United States, offering deep water, spruce covered islands, and rocky granite shores. There is a dock on the property along with a deep water mooring. It also has a small cove that will warm up enough for swimming. Vinalhaven is located in the middle of Penobscot Bay. It is accessible by ferry which winds through the White Islands on its journey to Carver's Harbor on Vinalhaven. The home, called 'Bowsprit Point' is located on the northern part of the island. It is close by boat to North Haven Island. Much of the land surrounding our property is held by the Vinalhaven Land Trust. They have put many hiking trails in place. Vinalhaven has an active artist community. It is also the center of the lobster fishery, with over 200 lobster boats in its fleet. There are many activities ongoing during the summer, from concerts to plays in the town theater on North Haven. Swimming is done in the local fresh water quarries. There are several excellent restaurants on the island.

Golf: There is a golf course on North Haven. A local marina will provide a boat ride from Vinalhaven to North Haven
