OCEAN VIEW, COMFORTABLE, SPACIOUS AND CLEAN

Although it took us 3 hours from Portland it was well worth the drive. The Sand Dollar was clean, beautifully remodeled and felt like a home away from home. The beach access was super easy and it was nice to see the ocean from the top floor. Cape Perpetua is super close and Yachats had some nice places to get some delicious seafood. We are excited to go back. Thanks!

It's more like a Sand (million) Dollar spot! Even though our vacation was "off season," not the sunniest . . . or warmest time of the year, it was totally enjoyable. Our Sand Dollar is so conviently located we spent much of our time running (actually driving) up and down the coast between Yachats, South Beach, and Newport -- with so many different and exciting things to do, wonderful places to eat, and so much to see. Mornings and evenings were spent at the beach (weather permitting). We even had a toasty fire at the beach one evening, with firewood provided by our most generous and helpful hosts. The apartment was spacious and perfectly clean and maintained with everything you need for cooking/housekeeping. Our favorite "groceries" were from a South Beach Fish market, grilled on the b-b-q grill on our deck -- overlooking the ocean. It doesn't get any better than that!! Thanks!

The morning strolls on that long wide beach were perfect, with leisurely dog fetch to tire out the pooches for our later explorations. Everything clean and in shape, and owner checked in midway to ask if we needed anything.
Location good, although the view of the beach is diminished by an older structure just in front of the deck. Stairs to upper unit , and to the beach, are steep, so not great for any with mobility issues. Deck is gated to secure kids or pets. Was very quiet mid-week, probably less so on weekends and in summer.

Could bike to downtown Yachats dining, if desired. Especially enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Luna Seafood 3 miles south - awesome fresh crab, halibut, shrimp just off the boat. Note that the winter hours have them opening only for lunch mid-week, but boat owner was nice enough to let us in early to pack some in ice for the home journey.

We had great hiking/ tide-pooling in Cape Perpetua, only minutes away. And short journey north to Newport Aquarium, etc. All in all, only thing that would have been better is the overcast days and morning fogs, so dress for it in the winter.
