Fully restored stone village house with a breathtaking views of surrounding vineyards and countryside in the charming village of Caussiniojouls, on the edge of the Languedoc mountains, 15 minutes from Beziers. See our website listed below for more details. Great hiking and kayaking, tour the vineyards of the Faugeres AOC (including two in the village), swim at wonderful beaches (20 minutes), also near Carcassonne and other castles as well as the charming cities of Beziers and Pezenas (15 minutes) with markets, antiques, medieval architecture. Our comfortably furnished house has all new appliances, American style mattresses and couches, a private garden and rooftop terrace, both bursting with local flowers. The nearest airports are Barcelona (2.5 hours) or Montpellier (1 hour). The TGV from Paris to Montpellier takes about 4.5 hours. This is a wonderful authentic part of France--with all the charm and amenities of Provence but none of the crowds.

Nearest Airport: Montpellier (MPL) at 40 Miles
Nearest Train: Beziers at 12 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 15 Miles
Car: necessary
Languedoc is a beautiful part of France, one that includes mountains, castles, beaches and vineyards. Our favorite activities include wine tastings and wine festivals (the much-heralded Faugeres AOC surrounds the village), hiking, visiting castles and museums, going to the beaches of the Mediterranean coast. We often fly into Barcelona and drive to Caussi from there (2.5 hours) or spend a day or two in Paris en route via fast train. The Herault has not yet been discovered by mass tourism but is increasingly heralded by the discerning as the place to find the authentic France.
