Gulfport House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
This charming home is located on a large corner lot with citrus fruit trees, a fenced-in back yard off the screened lanai and a new 26' screened-in, front porch. Newly renovated and furnished, there are cool tile floors throughout and ceiling fans in every room. The Master Suite is separated from the other bedrooms for privacy. Renovated in August 2009, the master bedroom was turned into a suite by adding 60 square feet, a huge walk-in closet and a beautiful master bathroom with a convenient laundry closet.
The sandy beach on quiet Boca Ciega Bay is a five block walk through the historic part of Gulfport. Restaurants and small shops create a friendly, small town atmosphere. The small Gulfport Museum, located in an older home, and a park with tennis courts are across the street. The library and community art theater are three blocks away. Gulfport is the ideal place to enjoy peace and quiet just minutes from downtown St. Petersburg with all its museums, nightlife, restaurants and shopping. The Tampa airport is a 25 minute drive. The Gulf beaches, like St. Pete Beach, are only a short 15 minute drive.
Gulfport, originally a small fishing community, has become an integral part of St. Petersburg's art scene. A number of artists and musicians from around the country have created neighborhoods with colorfully painted homes and interesting yard art. An artwalk is held twice a month.
One of old Gulfport's most charming features is the Casino. It is located on the beach and is a venue for nightly dancing and weekly dance lessons. People of all ages gather for the lessons in Latin or ballroom dancing or just to watch others on the dance floor. On Sunday afternoons a group of Italians play bocci and dance in the Pavilion on the waterfront.
