The view is breathtaking. No need to walk to the beach, just sit on the porch! Watch the lobster boats haul their traps, listen to the surf and the horn from the twin light houses of Thacher Island. This 7000 sq ft Rocky Shores Manor is perfect for a large family gathering. Built in 1905 during the Arts and Crafts Movement, this home is adorned with beautiful old wood molding and floors. Large living and dining rooms suitable for indoor gathering. Each bedroom has it's own bath. With 2 additional 1/2 baths on the first floor Two of the bedrooms have their own entry ways. No need to be concerned with parking, trash removal or linens. It's all here in a beautiful sea side mansion. You will return year after year as so many have. A very special place.

  • Weekly vacations: $8000 per week or $1200 per night.
  • Weekly rate (Saturday - Saturday) $8000 in June, July, Aug.
    Nightly rate (3 night minimum) $1200 per night April, May, Sept, Oct.
  • Weekly rentals are from Saturday to Saturday in June, July and Aug. Rate: $8000
    Available in May,Sept, Oct for $1200 per night.
    Deposit of 50% upon contract signing.
    Balance due one month before arrival. Security deposit : $1000 for weekly rentals
    Security deposit of $1000 must accompany last payment.
    Deposit returns are as follows : No deposit will be refunded until rental period has been re-booked. In the event that the rental period is not booked with 30 days prior to your arrival date, one half of the deposit will be refunded .

Notes: Two of the bedrooms have their own entry way. Absolutely no smoking in or even around home. Pets not allowed. Please don't ask. Two of the 10 bedrooms are on first floor for folks with challenges with stairs. Gas grill. Walk to beaches and village. See the Motif #1 (red fisherman's shack) and shop/dine. Train that goes to Boston in 1 hour. Public golf course. The home is set back about 100 feet from the ocean and from a seldom used road so the location is very safe for small children.

Take in the raw beauty of the ocean: No neon lights here. Only the light houses of Thacher Island. An occasional car on this road is as busy as it gets. The only traffic around here are the lobster boats. Very safe haven for families with children. Nice and quiet for the adults. White sandy beach is a 1/2 mile away. Rocky beach within 100 yards. Restored 100 year old bed and breakfast with all the charm of a by-gone era. Feel the excitement build as you come up the hill approaching the Manor. For a brief time you will call THIS 'home.' Listen to the waves crash and whistle blow from the lighthouse as you unpack and anticipate your week ahead. Roam around a bit before everyone gets here and pick a bedroom - it may take a while. There are 10, all are different. Leaving all of this beauty and will not be easy. You will yearn all winter to return. 'Maybe next year 2 weeks!' To build more memories...

We rented Rocky Shores for a family reunion that included 4 couples and 5 singles. We loved that everyone had their own room and private bath, the porch had plenty of rocking chairs and sofas for all and the view to the ocean with sunrises and moon rises was breathtaking. We loved the kitchen with appliances, dishes and cutlery, pots and pans galore. We loved the spacious downstairs and dining area where we all could eat. We loved the porch that seated 22 for a special lunch. We loved that the owners cared so much about their house and about the success of our stay. We loved that they were immediately responsive to any questions we had.

This lovely, unique home and location contributed to a perfect, always-to-be remembered family reunion and vacation.

This is a wonderful home with terrific views of the ocean. The 10 bedrooms with individual baths make it a perfect place for a large family reunion or get away. The host and hostess are accommodating - beautiful front porch for lounging. Just a wonderful spot. We had the dress rehearsal dinner there (a fabulous clambake done by the owner's brother-in-law) and people just had a wonderful time.
