Steinmetz Lodge is located on Paradox Lake outlet with its own private waterfront & boat dock and a quiet, sandy, community beach on the lake for swimming. Great for kids. Very nice kitchen & family room area with cathedral ceiling, Adirondack beams, gas stove/fireplace and two sliding glass doors to large deck overlooking the waterfront. Downstairs, there is a game room with pool table, game table, rustic Adirondack bar & refrigerator, a day bed couch for additional sleeping and another gas stove/fireplace. Slider opens to ground level for easy access to the large, newly constructed boat dock. Quiet Paradox lake offers beautiful wild scenery, water skiing, and great fishing for trout, bass and northern pike. Row boat and canoe provided for your use. There are also 2 kayaks available for an additional $100 fee. Great location only 2 miles from Northway/Rt 87. Hike, cross country ski and backpack on trails connecting remote ponds and mountains in the nearby Pharoah Lake wilderness area. Downhill skiing at Gore Mtn is 35 minutes away and Whiteface is 45.
Boating: Bring your own power boat, the dock can accomodate most sized boats. Rentals available at Loon Lake marina. Rowboat and canoe with lifejackets are provided.
This cabin was Great! This was the perfect place to host our 6th Annual Ice Fishing trip. I think we may have to return for our 7th.
This cabin was great! We had an absolute blast here, it was exactly what we were looking for to host our 6th Annual Ice Fishing trip. I think we may have to return for our 7th.
What a great vacation rental. Description does not do it justice. Loved the short walk to the swimming beach, and the firepit was enjoyed every night.the house was large and very clean. Owners were very helpful
Looking forward to returning
Would highly recommend this vacation rental
This November I took my first trip to the Adirondacks, and had a fantastic time. I stayed at the Steinmetz lodge, nestled in a private, forested area. The lodge has a spacious, open floor plan on the main floor with a large kitchen, dining area, and living room area. Windows line the walls with beautiful views of the outdoors. The house has a cozy ambiance with it’s fireplace, personal touches, old fashioned decor, and spacious porch.
I plan to stay at the Steinmetz Lodge for my next trip to the Adirondacks, and have
recommended it to friends who are planning a trip there. The owners are easy to work with, and the price is very reasonable.
I had the extreme pleasure of using the house over winter break with my family of 4 and another couple. The kids were in love with the play room. I could hardly drag them away from the pool table!!
The house was so comfortable and inviting. It was very clean so I was happy to cook breakfast and diner. Everything I need was right there.
The location of the house is great. Very easy to find and easy to get to. The view out the window is beautiful. you see water as well as a great deck. ( I am already planning my return in the summer to sit there with a cool one!)
I took a walk onto Paradox which is just a couple of minutes (5) out of the door. The vistas were breath taking!
I can't say enough good things! I would highly recomend the lodge to anyone wanting a clean, comfy get away!!
We honeymooned at this cabin the week of July 17th, 2010. The cabin was extremely well equipped with all of the comforts of home. The décor is welcoming and fitting for a home in the Adirondacks. It is very spacious and has a huge great room and game room downstairs, complete with a pool table, dart board, and bar! It was clean and the cabin and grounds well maintained. We made much use of the beautiful wrap around deck and waterfront fire pit. The supplied canoe and row boat were great fun to use paddling around the inlet/outlet and bays. We had many of our out of town guests from the wedding join us (children and adults), we had ample room to host BBQ’s and overnight guests. We made use of the community beach and appreciated the short walk down the road and supplied Adirondack chairs. It was nice to meet some of the other residents who gave us and our company some great recommendations of places to go and things to do in town. The town of Schroon Lake is just up the road and has everything one would need. This was a great home for entertaining large and small groups of all ages, would definitely return.
Easy to access, just 2 miles from the Rt 87 Northway. Schroon Lake village is only 5 minutes away with a supermarket, shops, movie theatre, restaurants and weekly summertime performances at the Segal Music Institute. It's only a 45 minute drive to Saratoga, Lake Placid or Middlebury Vermont. The Pharoah lake wilderness area is nearby offering thousands of acres of secluded hiking trails, mountains and remote ponds stocked with trout. Trails to the Adirondack high peaks are also nearby.
