San Francisco Vacation Rental apartment

Every time I leave this apartment I feel I am being torn away from my true home. I live on the other side of the world but through repeated stays in the Castro Suite apartment I have grown to love the city of San Francisco and this lovely house and the ground floor apartment has become my home away from home.

It has everything I need. There are a lot of exciting restaurants within reach but as I also love to stay at home after a busy day and cook for myself I love all the amenities in the kitchen and the fact that the supermarket is a short walk away. The stylish decor, striking original artwork by the owners and the comfortable furniture make it a perfect place to stay around for a lazy afternoon with the doors to the patio open and with the luxury of a quiet San Francisco back garden to enjoy.

The location makes is perfect for short sojourns or for longer periods. The Castro is just a few steps away with easy access to the BART and MUNI, Market Street with its street cars - which are my preferred mode of transport - even closer. The Haight is a short trek up the hill. The location is perfect with easy access to everything the city has to offer but as the apartment faces the back garden it is a quiet place to relax and regain strength before the next excursion to discover yet another previously unknown neighborhood of this great city.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Like the city itself it has character, it has style, it is as full of vibrant color and bold design. The hosts are as gracious and helpful as one could possibly wish for. They will help you make the most of your stay in this incomparable city.

Wow, step into a vacation wonderland, whether you are a first time visitor to San Francisco or a business traveler, you are home in this lovely jewel hidden in the heart of the City. I have stayed in this apartment many times and each visit makes me long for another visit. The proprietors are the consummate hosts when it comes to assuring that the apartment is comfortable, clean and a relaxing respite for their guests. They are extremely helpful if you need suggestions for dining or tourist attractions. The City can be noisy and the pace is lively. From this apartment, your home away from home, you can partake or retreat from all the City has to offer. Great restaurants are bountiful and within walking distance. The Castro theater district is 4 blocks away. Golden Gate Park, the Muir Woods, Alcatraz and wine country, Napa and Sonoma, are all very doable day trips. Transportation is very convenient. If you are into walking, the Muni and Bart stations are no more than a few blocks away. Of course, taxis and rental cars are very accessible as well. I can't recommend this rental property enough. You will be back and more than once.

I stayed at the Castro Suites earlier this month and I loved every minute of it. The location is ideal…just off a tree-lined quiet street in the heart of the Castro. It’s also a 5-minute walk to Castro Street, the Metro, some excellent restaurants (the French resto L’Ardoise was my favorite), shops, and some charming Victorians.

The suite itself was spacious, immaculately clean, well appointed (every kitchen utensil / pan you could ever possibly need), charming, warm and very inviting. I loved being able to walk directly out of the suite and onto the huge beautiful garden (English garden, I think). The bathroom was larger than I expected with full shower. The side entrance to the suite was ideal as I was able to enter/exit without going through the main house. The owners were very helpful and courteous.

I will certainly be staying here again when I return to San Francisco.
