UNIQUE BEACHFRONT IN PUERTO RICAN TRADITION FOR NATURE-SEEKERS

Vieques Island Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

A slice of paradise... Casa de Playa is a traditional modest casa that rests gently within a teeming, beautiful nature preserve. Enjoy the beautiful grounds and touch of nostalgia for the old time Caribbean quality of life.

Your yard at Casa de Playa is a park shaded by coconut trees, almonds, bananas, mangoes, and many other enticing fruits. Hosting an exotic bird sanctuary, the nearby laguna is flanked by protected mangroves, visited by pasa finos and inhabited by iguanas, land crabs and ... the fragrance of the lovely Trade Winds.

Our two bedroom casa features a queen bed in the master and two large twin beds (that can be combined into a king bed) in the other. We also can provide a standard crib and small stroller as needed.

Our chef-kitchen is well-stocked and fun, and the dining, lounge and playroom area are well-furnished, bright and beautiful. The Atlantic Ocean is visible (and audible!) from most places within la casa. And the property views include the islands of Culebra and St. Thomas-- which are gorgeous at sunset. We recently replaced the fencing encircling the finca with a decorative replacement to make your stay feel even more private, more special than ever.

The casa also has modest air-conditioning, lighted ceiling fans throughout, Internet access, Dish TV, and a landline phone for your comfort. We also offer guests use of a built-in safe and have a security door for the casa.

Discover beaching at Casa de Playa; sunning, sanding, wading, stroking, fishing, surfing, seaglass searching, seashell listening, walking without end. Or lounge about on a comfortable chaise and just soak up the sun and ocean breezes...

Our home is a casa on a beach and enjoys a great sense of privacy and natural wonder. As our guests, you will enjoy a unique, tropical experience wrapped within the beauty and charm of la Isla Nena. Welcome!

Absolutely AMAZING week in tropical paradise!

Vieques was the best vacation we've had in a long, long time and we couldn't have been happier with our time spent at Casa de Playa! Everything was perfect! Both the owners and Vale, the property manager, were so helpful and made our stay so much more enjoyable than we could have hoped for! From the time we stepped off the ferry, we felt at ease and relaxed! A quiet little slice of paradise was found! Such a perfect location for our small family from having meals on the terrace to the daily visits from the wild horses!

The island has easily become one of our favorites and we can't wait to get back already! It was extremely hard to leave! Looking forward to many, many more vacations visiting Vieques!

Perfect House for a Family with Small Children! Nature, Beach... and all one would need!

I recently stayed at CDP with my partner and my 2 children, ages 5 & 7. We had a blast! The house is everything one could need, neat, clean, and well-stocked. We had wireless internet and a newly built laundry shed steps from the house. I must say, Casa de Playa is not Vegas. It is not the Bellagio. What it is, is a truly comfortable beach house with the ocean breeze lulling you to sleep at night (we didn't want the AC), wild horses roaming past and bathing in the lagoon, iguanas, egrets, palms, sea glass galore. It is spiritual in its simplicity!! The caretaker was so friendly and accommodating! I didn't have cell phone the entire time ( Verizon's fault, not the island), a blessing actually, and he arranged my taxi, made sure of my ferry tickets, answered all my questions and even found us a baby sitter so we could go indulge in one of the nice restaurants on the island! My only advice is to protect your skin!! The sun is sooo strong, my little ones ears burned! Sunscreen is mildly effective, but copious sand rubs it off. Sun shirts and sun hats are needed if you are easily burned.
The house was well kept, easy to clean ( a constant with sand and kids), lovely to watch one of the only spots on the island that has large waves!! My partner and my 7 year old did go snorkeling, which you need water shoes due to the rocks, and had a blast! The locals use this access point to go boogie boarding due to the waves. There is a grill, a stove, a TV with DVD, dish soap, plenty of towels.
I want to thank the owner from the bottom of my heart for her "child" discount and her wonderful communication throughout the process of renting. I had a rejuvenating, delightful, much needed break from the real world! And the children will NEVER forget their trip to Vieques and our little bungalow, Casa de Playa!!

Small beach front house with everything you need

Casa de Playa was perfect for us; three adults. The house is small so for groups larger than four people you would have to be okay with spending time together in a confined space. The house comes with absolutely everything you could possibly need including; beach towels, linens, kitchen supplies (even trash bags and dish soap), boogie boards, and sun hats. The W/D are not on the actual property but are a very short walk past beautiful trees and scenery. There was even clothes soap available for us to use.

The land crabs in the side yard are very fun to watch. The beach directly in front of the house is practically deserted at all times. It is wonderful for beach combing (we found lots of sea glass) but if you are looking to snorkel I would recommend Mosquito Pier or some of the beaches on the former Navy grounds.

The A/C unit is in the master bedroom and doesn't cool the second bedroom very well, but being beachfront we preferred to have the windows open and the fans running. That way you can hear the ocean and fall asleep to the coqui frogs...Or use the ear plugs available at the house if you like to sleep in a quiet atmosphere (as I said before the has has just about everything you could possibly need).

Casa de Playa is not a fancy house but it is very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed our stay and had absolutely no complaints. Just a warning that the floors can be a little slippery when they are wet because they are ceramic tile. I would recommend this house if you don't need a ton of space and can live without large screen TV's, pools, and fancy furniture. You certainly can't beat the price for a beach front house on Vieques!

Staying at Casadeplaya is so serene and refreshing. Birds and horses frequent the laguna each morning and afternoon - while you sit on your porch in awe. A beautiful view, the beach is great for sea glass collecting, walking and snorkeling - as well as surf which sings you to sleep. And I've never seen iguanas so up close; they're shy.
The casa is simple, yet very nicely appointed, with good beds and a kitchen with everything needed to cook at home.
Vieques is SO NOT upscale [YEAH!], yet the people are friendly and world savy. Beaches and water are awesome.
MAGIC, absolutely magical.
Owner's Response: There are renters, and there are guests. These guests are always welcome to share our "slice of paradise."
