The beautiful lakefront cabin that we call Moosetracks, sits just feet from the lake, nestled in the wooded hillside. The four season, tranquil home sees its share of wildlife, as the name suggests. The well appointed and newly furnished vacation home is in an ideal location. 1500 sf, cathedral ceiling, skylights, and picture windows help create the perfect lakeside retreat. The lake, mountain, and forest reflect on the knotty pine, new cabinetry, cabin furnishings, and warm gas heaters and create a dreamy cabin atmosphere. You will find every convenience in the fully equipped kitchen, such as: refrigerator, range, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, lobster pot, toaster and a grill. It's an ideal lake home, perfect for recreational family vacations, romantic getaways, or winter holidays. Enjoy the southern exposure and the lakeside view from the porch or the balcony. Discover ever-changing colors and the magnificent views of the sunrise and romantic sunsets.
Guest comment: We absolutely loved the Moose Tracks house. We saw a bald eagle from the dock while we were fishing. There was a king fisher who showed up several times a day to go fishing. At the scenic stop, we saw two moose at a distance. Also we happened to see a red fox. It was great to be at the house with the paddle boat, kayaks, and the canoes. With four kids, its good to have lots to do at the camp. We spent time playing the games and watching the Red Socks win on the satellite T. V. Also it very close to many of the area attractions. One day we went to the Cole Transportation Museum, WWII Memorial, and Vietnam Memorial in Bangor. Another day we went to the University of Maine in Orono. We also visited Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park. That trip was excellent and is highly recommended. We are very interested in going back to the camp next year because there are many things we would like to do.
Thank you very much for sharing Moose tracks with us.

Guest comment: We had a wonderful time at Moosetracks. It was lovlier than we had anticipated! The loft was beautiful and the cottage exuded warmth. It felt so much like the way we view 'Maine' and we were so sorry to leave. We actually were going to leave late on Friday night to avoid the Massachusetts Turnpike traffic, but decided to stay over, and face the next day's traffic because it was so hard parting with that piece of heaven!
The lake, the cottage, the silence!, the trees, blueberries, fresh water spring, fishing, canoes, and kayak were, in combination, almost more than we deserved! I can honestly say that this was the nicest cottage we have been to
in Maine and we have been visiting different areas every summer in Maine for years, each time renting cottages (rarely renting the same one twice). We met one of your neighbor's who used to vacation in the area often and loved it so much that they decided to buy there!
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to visit Moosetracks.
Guest comment: We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful cabin. It was like being in the Hilton of cabins. We explored an awful lot and the cabin was a perfect jump off point. Jimmy had concerns about drinking the mountain water and suggests that you let everyone know to pick up water if they aren't comfortable with drinking the water out of the spring. The paddle boat was a blast and the fishing was pretty good too. Jimmy caught 5 pickerel and 1 bass. We navigated the blueberry barrens with a GPS and a map from Rt. 1 to Rt. 9, visited Lubec and Campobello, Bar Harbor, Acadia and the coast around Columbia and Milbridge. The weather couldn't have been better. You
have a piece of heaven up there. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Spectacular setting with privacy and serenity.
With two five-year olds and a dog in tow we headed out on our vacation. The lake is actually a smaller lake (or giant pond) connected to the larger beddington lake if you do a googlemaps search like I did. The water is clear for swimming, we caught and released several small sunfish and took a few canoe rides. There were neighbors on the far side of the pond for Saturday and Sunday and then we had the place to ourselves. The town of Milbridge is nearby (30 min) which is where we started as we arrived early and Jeff, the property manager, suggested we check out. There is a beautiful park there way off the beaten path with a gorgeous view of the ocean and tidal pools to search through. We took day trips to Machiasport, Bangor (rainy day movies), and Bar Harbor and Acadia (1.5 hours). Everything is a little farther away than I expected but we don't mind driving and really appreciated the beauty and seclusion. It was soft shell lobster season. We found soft shell lobster in Milbridge for $3.50/lb so had lobster boils back at the cabin twice (and brought some back with us to share with friends). It was also the start of blueberry season. We got to see the fields turning blue and the seasonal workers setting up camp at the Wyman's plant. I snatched up 5 quarts of those little gems from a roadside stand and am freezing them now. We did find the natural spring. We ended up drinking that water the last couple of days and our kids thought it was pretty cool bending over and drinking right from stream pouring out of the pipe.
The large enclosed porch was great for the kids to play in while we had to be inside. And having a washer meant coming home without dirty laundry which is always a plus! Furniture was a little worn but clean. The TV is an older console style with DirecTV attached. My (spoiled) daughter saw me grab the remote and said "Huh? Where's the TV?" Imagine if she saw a tape player! Mind Blown. All in all we had a fantastic vacation and would suggest it to anyone.
We had a great time at Moosetracks, unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to sign the guestbook at the cabin so decided to leave some comments here instead. Our 9, 7 and 5 year old children loved being able to go out in the Kayaks and paddleboat on their own, the boys caught loads of fish (my 9 year old told me it must have been 70 or so over the week). We saw an eagle, a big buck and some turtles, we caught and released some Pickerel, Bass and Perch. I am surprised about the previous comment about the spring, we found the water from the spring is fresher and tastier then any bottled water you can buy. We spent a day in Bar Harbour and the rest of the time we enjoyed the pond. We had the entire pond all to ourselves for the entire week, only saw someone out on their dock reading the first two days we were then. The Cabin was well appointed and had everything we could need. I appreciate you allowing us to share MooseTracks and look forward to perhaps renting it again in the future. Thanks, Chris and Nikki Meader
