Casa De La Rusa

What first sold us on the rental was John and Vera. They have to be the two sweetest people alive. After talking with them we knew that this place had to be special! Casa De la Rusa did not disappoint. Joan, created a happy anniversary for my wife and I by staging the place for our arrival with salads, fruit, a birthday cake (for Me) and sparkling juice. Since it was only two of us, we had the Whole place to ourselves. We woke every morning to the natural music of nature. The spacious and more than functional Kitchen made for great and beautifully prepared meals. Although the home is full of immaculate furnishings, our most favorite place to eat breakfast was on the front porch overlooking the inviting Caribbean waters. It just feels nice to have a wondrous view of two islands over for breakfast. The palms and well kept property reminded us every day to relax and take in the fresh air (something that we don't get a lot of in the city"). So, some days we hoped for rain so we could have an excuse to stay home to lay out in the hammock. Casa De La Rusa is located in Isabel Segunda, a small town on the island of Vieques. The people are friendly. There were numerous times we were mistaken for natives. Isabel II is full of surprising entrepreneur's shops including an internet Cafe that rivals "Starbucks". The food is outstanding. Tradewinds has some pretty good fried fish and I'm a North Carolina kid (go Duke) so I know good fish when I taste it. Williams Pizza is the greatest unknown pizza parlor and "Richard's" has the biggest lobster I have ever seen. It was the first time that I have been full after one scrumptious lobster.
We were so sad on our last day that we were plotting on how to get back next year. The home was wonderful. It was warm inviting and beautiful. We met the neibors who were adorable. We also got a chance to meet "Natasha" the cutie pie puppy. There is not enough room to accurately give a thorough account of our experience. We would recommend this to any married couple, family, or just one person who would like to just get away to the best rental in the No. 1 Caribbean destination. PS John and Vera: Thank You, I used to have a grandmother who stayed in Dunn, NC. There was one room in her home that I could always go to to regain my peace (sometimes my sanity). She is now living in the paradise, but the very same peace I used to get when I was there is the same that I got at your home. For 1 week It was paradise to me and my wife.
