Central City Location

This loft apartment is a good option for business travelers or those who want to experience San Juan city/night life. It's right in the center of the city, easy walking distance to just about everything in San Juan, including a number of excellent restaurants. The downside is the noise level -- there were a lot of things going on in the part and street below, and we heard it all, but then that's city life...
The windows open up for a view of the small park in front of the building where older gentlemen gather for a game of dominoes in the afternoons... nice to watch.
The bedroom "loft" part of the apartment is not for anyone who is afraid of heights or ladders: it's a made-up part of the apartment that probably was not there originally. It worked for us, but we had no kids with us... I would not recommend the loft for small children. The owner was helpful and prompt in meeting us. The apartment was safe (lots of locks to go through to get to it), and pretty clean (with the exception of the sofa (spotty) and the coffee maker (grounds left inside from previous visitor). There is no elevator to get to the apartment, and there is also no nearby parking (there is a garage several blocks away). You can stop "almost" in front, to drop off your luggage but only for a very quick stop (so between the two of us, it worked, but would have been harder if I were there alone). The price is reasonable for San Juan and for what you get (an adequate "short-term aparment") : I would (and most likely will) stay there again and personally prefer it to a hotel.
