Thursday evenings are for band concerts at the lakeside park in town. You can enjoy the music across the lake from our deck or go into town and mingle. Nearby Bouckville is famous for antiquing. Green Lakes State Park, Chittenango Falls, & Highland Forest are just 3 of the many state parks where trails & spectacular waterfalls can be found. It was wrong choice for us

We (11 people) rented Water’s Edge house for vacation at the end of July.
House is big and well maintained. Living and dining areas are nice and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped, though fridge was filthy when we arrived, and we had to clean it before unpacking our coolers. Bathrooms are modern, convenient, and clean.
Patio, Jacuzzi, and lawn are very nice, but do not expect any comfortable extras like, for example, reclining chairs. You will find moderately convenient inexpensive plastic chairs; some of them may be dirty. Umbrellas with holes are useless during the rain, but they provide shadow on a sunny day.
Lake is beautiful and canoe trips are fun. The problem is swimming. Our correspondence with owner left no doubt that good swimming was one of our major requirements. It was extremely disappointing to find out that bottom of the lake is thick and disgusting mire, and no matter how far you swim you have algae surrounding you everywhere. Owners failed to disclose this fact.
Sleeping arrangement was another surprise. You will not find it in the description or in the agreement, but be prepared to find waterbed in the master bedroom. If you never experienced this adventure, try it before you rent this house. Out of 4 couples we could not find volunteers to occupy biggest bedroom. Bedroom on the 1st floor is adjustment to the garage and has strong smell of gasoline. Our agreement showed 7th bedroom with double sofa sleeper, but it was owner’s office with the sign “Do not enter” on the door. Thus we were reduced to 4 bedrooms that could comfortably accommodate 8 people, but not 11 and not 13 as advertised.
Unpacking clothes was a challenge. Since the house is owner’s main residence all closets and dressers are filled with their stuff and there is no room for renters. You can arrange your clothes on the nearby couch, on the floor, or wherever.
Our next requirement after swimming was tennis table and/or pool table. Owners assured us that they had both in the basement, and it was clearly stated in the contract. There were none. Well, basement is too damp and smelly anyway. I doubt someone would want to spend any time there.
One last note: if you are sensitive to the quality of linen and towels, you are better off bringing your own. Owner’s linen is clean and decent, but it’s so old - you will not know the original color. Bath and beach towels are clean, but small and coarse.

It may be your dream house or it may not.

Full of activities

A quite a big place with lovely backdrop of lake. All the activities mentioned in the description are in fact less compared to what you will get there. We had lovely time kayaking, biking, playing all the games in basement. Also, owner was kind enough to provide us with lovely motorboat ride on last day in 4 milelong cazenovia lake. Best is outside jacuzzi with a view of lake. We did lot og cooking and owner did let us their utensils and in factg some of their food items. As owner live in same house when not renting, you would find every damn thing in the house. The only thing which I found missing was a big plasama screen but again with so many activities so has time for it.
