Hacienda Tucson is a large 8-room, 2-bath home located on 5 acres of pristine Sonoran desert adjoining open land. It’s Spanish Colonial architecture features Viga beams and Saltillo tile floors throughout, and is professionally decorated with Mexican and Southwestern artwork and furnishings. Hacienda Tucson is a passive solar Green home. The home is located 30 minutes west of Downtown Tucson, near the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park West, and several trailheads. The mountain views and abundant wildlife provide a unique desert experience. Relax to the sounds of nature, like bird songs and occasional coyote howls. This is a great destination for running, biking, hiking, birding, stargazing, et cetera. The surrounding Tucson Mountains provide an fabulous backdrop to view spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
Great Room & Master Suite:
The Great Room features a stone fireplace with leather-look finished walls. A large, cushy denim sectional sofa is the perfect place to enjoy the satellite television and CD player. The open dining room seats 6 and has a rustic wooden Mexican chandelier, pine table, and Old Hickory chairs. The large gourmet kitchen features all modern appliances and granite countertops, with telephone and an adjoining laundry room. The kitchen walls were inspired by the colors of the Grand Canyon.
The Master Suite decor was inspired by the owner’s world travels and has a king-size bed and private bath. The Southwest-style second bedroom has a queen-size Lodge Pole bed. The colorful “Morocco meets Guatemala” sitting room doubles as a third bedroom with a twin-size bed and trundle bed which sleeps two. The library feature a hand painted mosaic floor.
Living Areas:
Each living area has ceiling fans and evaporative cooling as well as electric heating. The central courtyard with a fountain and BBQ grill is a great spot for outdoor dining and seats 6. The large wrap-around porch with bent willow furniture and a hammock offers incredible sunrise and sunset views. A flagstone patio with a fountain connects to the porch. The caretaker casita is separated by the garage and courtyard, so each section of the house has lots of privacy.
