$400 off 2 week rental for members of the Vermont Summer Festival. 10 miles to Bebe Farm. This is the perfect rural 'get-a-way' to relax. Comfortable, open floor plan, vacation home on 13 acres, frontage on 55 acre Danby Pond and great mountain views. Large screen porch with comfortable furniture for naps, huge deck with table, chairs, lounges & gas BBQ. Sony 42' HDTV, VCR/DVD/Bose Ipod dock, Surround Sound, DSL Internet access, Keurig coffeemaker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, gas fireplace/stove and jetted tub. Fish from the dock or on the pond; 2 canoes and row boat. Pond is not for swimming. Dog permitted with prior approval. Non smoking. 15 miles to Manchester for outlets, antique and artisan shops and fine dining. A visit to the Orvis Flagship store is a must! Around our area are golf, swimming, horseback riding (just down the road) fishing and hiking in the Green Mountains. Winter boasts skiing, sleigh rides, ice skating and snowmobiling all within 30 minutes.

Danby is a quaint town, with antique shops and inns. The house is 10 minutes to Vermont Summer Festival(Horse Show), 15 minutes to Manchester, for shopping, sightseeing or golf at the Gleneagles Golf Course.

Screen porch is a delightful way to enjoy the Vermont air while napping. Large deck with dining table and chairs, 2 lounges. 4 Adirondack chairs and firepit by pond. Dock to fish. 2 Canoes and one boat with electric motor for fishing. Fully stocked kitchen - Keurig coffeemaker available upon request. Skiing - Bromley 25 min, Stratton, Okemo & Killington within an hour.

As other reviewers have said Pictures do not do it justice. The home is immaculate inside and out! What sets this home apart from all the rest are all the small unexpected extras and surprises. We found all furniture and beds to be very comfortable with plenty of linens, towels, and toiletries. The kitchen has everything you need. The grounds are beautiful, which can be viewed from the screened-in porch, very special.

The pond and fishing were great! The kids had the best time fishing from the dock. An early morning canoe ride or fishing from the aluminum boat on a calm morning is the perfect way to start your day! Paddles, life preservers everything you need is there.

Finally a rental as clean as my own home! The cottage was a perfect place to relax in the beauty of VT but still be close enough to get to the VT Summer Festival Horse Shows, the event that brought us to the area. A welcome change from the usual Horse Show hotel with all the ameneties of home - and more!

Our Favorite Place To Stay

We have stayed at the log home in Danby at least 5 times now. It's the perfect place in the perfect location in any season. Whether you are looking for a base for exploration, or just looking for a spot to relax and unwind in perfect solitude, this place fits the bill.

The photos on the web site are very nice, but they don't fully convey the warmth and beauty you'll experience once you arrive. The house has everything you could possibly need and the property makes you feel like you're in you own private park. Just ask the dogs! They love going for walks and swimming in the pond.

The owners are fantastic and make you feel like their home is really yours.

We love it here and will continue to visit as often as possible. It's our favorite place to stay.

Truth in Advertising - A Hidden Gem

For the money our stay at "Windy Meadow" was one of the most relaxing and romantic weekends my wife and I have had in a while. The place was immaculate, super clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. If you are looking to "get away" to a real Vermont country place, this offers privacy and enjoyment you won't find at a lot of 4 star Inns.

Cozy, Charming and Conveniet! Perfect Getaway!

We just got back from an extremely relaxing stay at the cabin. Everything exceeded our expectations--from thoughtfulness of the owner, to the charm of the cabin on the outside, to the comfortable, cozy and well appointed decor on the inside. The amenities were fabulous--the beds and couches were very comfortable, and we were able to cook for ourselves the enitre weekend and relax at night with a nice glass of wine by the fireplace. We antiqued and explored Danby and then skiied Bromely, which was only 35 minutes away; Manchester was great as well. It was a well needed reprive from the city---we're definately planning to visit again!
