Old San Juan was designated as a world heritage site by the United Nation in 1983. This distinction places Viejo San Juan in a select group of worldwide landmarks. Within walking distance you will find excellent restaurants, patio & open air bars, museums, fine art galleries & historic churches. The art galleries hold a late night exhibit the first Tues. of the month and outdoor exhibits of local crafts are also in view. The forts, El Morro & San Cristobal, fortresses built by the Spanish empire, designated national parks, are also within walking distance. Take a leisurely walk to enjoy sunsets at the Paseo de la Princesa park and see the entry & walled section built to protect the city & harbor. Free concerts held ever Sat. by the bay (1blk from condo) as well as at the Plaza de Armas. On Sunday evenings locals gather at the park for impromptu concerts. See the oldest chapel in N Amer, Capilla De Cristo, also La Rogativa, statue honoring women for saving San Juan from the British.

  • *This condo is our family “home away from home” we would appreciate renters leaving the kitchen clean (no dirty dishes) and the apartment tidy. Since this is a residential condo community, please conduct accordingly with manners and respect towards neighboring residents.
    Fines are administered by the homeowners association for noise & parking violations-these will be deducted
    from the security deposit.
    The meters are read upon arriving and after departure-excessive use of power will incur an additional
    fee contingent upon charges.
    *Minimum cleaning fee of $100 from security deposit will be deducted if apartment is not tidy*

La Puntilla Condo in Old San Juan

This condo was located in a perfect spot of Old San Juan for us. We are retired, in our early seventies, and this property was very convenient.It has all the emenities we needed. The owner provided excellent service. We could recommend this condo to our friends without hesitation. We plan to return next winter and hope to stay here again. We spent the entire month of January 2009 and it was definitely worth it.

Good stay, Bad charges

Our stay for 9 days during March of 09 was great in all areas except one. The location was perfect and the condo was nice and cozy but we got stuck with a ridiculous electric bill. In the lease it states that utility charges may not be excessive but exactly what "excessive" is, is not mentioned. The condo owner sent me a letter with my returned deposit stating that the electric bill for the month was $124.98 and she had decided to only give us an allowance of $42 for our 9 days. She deducted $83 from our deposit. She even mentioned that there were other people staying in the condo for a few days of the month but i guess we got stuck with their part of the bill too. Kinda BS if you ask me. Be careful when you sign the lease so that this does not happen to you. ( We turned off all lights when we were not there and the air-conditioner was only on at night)
Owner's Response: These young adults were informed that if excessive utility charges were incurred during their stay, fair & reasonable charges would be deducted from their security deposit. This was stated & included in the lease agreement. Further, the
Manager took a reading of the meter when they arrived and after
their departure. I sent them power company's Consumption History listing charges from 5/6/08 thru 4/07/09 averaging not more than $20/month. Their visit,3/13 thru 3/21/09 fell within March-April billing with no other guests for the month. As stated in letter, the last guest departed on 3/3...billing for March started on 3/7. The highest bill for the year was during their stay totaling $124.98 with no other billing that high especially in the cooler winter months. Further,the condo is for 4 person occupancy and they had 5 individuals staying. It would be difficult to monitor when the air conditioners were left on as well as settings if & when friends are going in and out of the apartment.
I agree that it was a "ridiculous" electric bill and gave them an allowance of $42.00 since the highest bill for the preceding winter months had been $41.56. They did not get "stuck" with
former guests' bill...I made it clear in the letter that previous guests departed on 3/3, March's billing starting on 3/7. The highest power charges for the year were $117.51 in July, during one of the hottest months of the year in Puerto Rico.
We try to be fair and for that reason sent them the power company's Consumption History for them to review along with
an explanation for the deduction taken from the security deposit.

Home away from home

An exceptional bargain on a very homey condo. We are not resort kind of travelers. We found this rental to be just as listed. The property was very clean with everything you might need: public transit, shops, resturants, bars, tourist information all within a couple hundered feet of this property. The local grocery was not much farther. The kitchen had all the amenities that you might need. The living room was set up for a nice relaxing night in.The property manager was very friendly and very helpful. As far as we could tell we had one of the few locations that had on site parking. We used this for our rental car to explore the rest of the island. I can not imagine a better deal for a week of vacation.
