BLUE SPRUCE CABIN - ESCAPE THE CROWDS AND ENJOY THIS CABIN RETREAT!

West Yellowstone House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 14 - Winter rate discounted 20% (winter 2013)!

The Blue Spruce Cabin is in a beautiful and quiet rural neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, but only minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone Park and the town of West Yellowstone. It has amazing views of the nearby mountains, and is in an area that is regularly frequented by Yellowstone wildlife.

This home is well equipped, with room for a larger family, but with a cozy and comfortable feel. It has three levels and plenty of space. It includes all of the comforts of home, including a full kitchen and full-sized washer/dryer, large screen TV's, wireless internet, a covered deck with barbeque grill, and a large yard.

The cabin offers spectacular mountain views with easy access to Hebgen Lake and the mountains of Gallatin National Forest. It is accessible by driving on a paved highway from the town of West Yellowstone and then taking a short 1/4 mile drive down a graded, maintained dirt road. It sits in a secluded area at the base of the mountains forming the Continental Divide, only 7.5 miles outside the town of West Yellowstone and the western entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

It is located in a small, quiet subdivision that is surrounded by Forest Service land. The Madison Arm of Hebgen lake, with a boat ramp, beaches, and swimming, is less than 4 miles away. All of the Park's animals also live and travel through the area, so it is not uncommon (depending on time of year) to see elk, moose, bear, fox, wolves, eagles and many other animals nearby. Groomed Forest Service snowmobile trails are accessible from the boundary of the subdivision, and snowmobiles can be ridden from the home in the winter. Cross country and backcountry skiing opportunities are also available right outside the door.

It is in a great location for staging any Yellowstone adventure, whether exploring the Park or the surrounding forests and lakes while skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, biking, boating... Almost any kind of outdoor adventure, you'll find it here. There's plenty to do in West Yellowstone too, for those not as outdoor inclined. You’ll love it!

PERFECT HOLIDAY VACATION!

  • 5 of 5
A belated but very enthusiastic note of appreciation for the time we had at your cabin during Christmas-New Years week. Cabin stays are our favorite family vacation, and this cabin will live in our memories as one of our favorites. Our teenagers loved the loft area and we all loved the spacious common areas, and all the special touches this cabin included. We had a blast snowmobiling in Yellowstone and the surrounding areas, exploring on snoeshoes, and getting to know West Yellowstone. We loved the snow, and the evenings of fun dinners and board games. It was great to combine a stay here with a few days at Mammoth Hot Springs. Thanks for such a lovely time during the holidays, and for the helpfulness/responsiveness provided in making the reservations and advising on area activities. We'd love to come back!

PERFECT WEEKEND!

  • 5 of 5
We just returned home and miss the Blue Spruce already. We had a great weekend at the Blue Spruce. We went for my parent's birthdays. We were able to Cross Country Ski and Snowmobile from the front porch. The location and the cabin was perfect--it provided everything anyone could ask for. We look forward to vacationing there again.

OUR KIND OF CAMPING!

  • 5 of 5
The house was wonderful! We had a group of 12 people and fit perfectly. Everything was clean and well eqiupped. We really enjoyed our experience of staying together in one place where we could actually gather - so much nicer than a hotel. The setting was beautiful and peaceful - we even heard wolves howling one night! The only thing I would rate negatively was the lack of information about what time we were to check out. It may have been on the contract and I missed it, but the information binder didn't include it. We weren't quite loaded up to go when the cleaning lady showed up. Fortunately, she was very nice about our still being there. Otherwise - fabulous!

FAMILY VACATION AT YELLOWSTONE

  • 4 of 5
My wife and I have 3 married daughters and 5 grand children and we all spent a week+ at this house for our summer vacation. The house is in a quiet location but very close to Yellowstone. This is a very good location to access Yellowstone from. Closest access to most park features without having to live in the park. We saw wildlife close to the house and heard coyotes several times, even though we were there in the late summer. We liked not being in West Yellowstone too as it is very touristy and busy.
As for the house, it was very nice and all 13 of us had room to sleep. I give it a 4 star instead of 5 because I think it is a little small for a group our size. The sleeping area was crowded in some areas and the common areas were pretty tight for 13 people. The living room would only sit about 6 people so the others had to either sit at the dining table or outside on the porch. All in all, though, I would recommend this house if you want to vacation at Yellowstone and caution you to realize that for a group of more than about 10, it might be a little small. It is definitely a neat place to stay though and we like the cabin feel.

A GREAT PLACE TO STAY IN WEST YELLOWSTONE

  • 5 of 5
Blue Spruce was the perfect home base for our family vacation in West Yellowstone. There was something for everyone from grandma to grandchildren. Grandma loved the quiet beauty of the location and sitting in the porch swing watching the afternoon thundershowers roll by. The kids loved the loft with 4 twin beds and claimed their own private space. Days were spent touring Yellowstone and evenings were spent enjoying family time with cooking in the well stocked kitchen and big dining room table for dinner and then card games. We were glad to stay a few miles outside of town since downtown West Yellowstone was very commercial. We did go into town for huckleberry ice cream, bison burgers and souvenir shopping but were always glad to head home to Blue Spruce. Thanks for a great stay!

EAST MEETS WEST FAMILY REUNION

  • 3 of 5
This home size was ideal for our family reunion which included 8 adults and 4 children. Refrigeration space was more than adequate for a large group. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils and cookware. The proximity to the park was great as was the yard space for baseball, kickball and water fights. I would not consider it a quiet neighborhood as there was a nightly rodeo and fireworks. We arrived to a rather dirty house, minimal paper products (toilet tissue, paper towels, no coffee filters) and no bath soap. Fortunately we had brought soap and shampoo for the family members that flew in from the east coast. There were not enough trash liners for a week's stay. We don't feel these supplies are an excessive expectation when paying $400/night.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review! A couple of notes on the problems mentioned:
There is a rodeo grounds outside of the subdivision where the home is located, and they do have events on a rotating basis, but not every night of the week. The rodeo is held from 7-10 PM on the nights it operates, and is a lot of fun to attend! However, although it can be heard from nearby subdivisions, this is the first time we’ve heard any complaints about it, even though we manage this home and several others nearby.
We pride ourselves in having clean properties. This is an older home, and it is log and wood, so possibly the reviewer is used to something different? Our properties are professionally cleaned, and each home has a cleaner dedicated to that particular property. We also inspect them on a regular basis, and take pains to ensure that they are in excellent condition for each stay.
We are sorry that this reviewer found it otherwise, but do wish that we had been called during the stay regarding any problems or concerns. It is very hard to do anything about it after the fact.
As to supplies and paper products, we do our best to meet the needs of our renters. During the week of the reviewer’s stay, we had a freight truck with a reorder of supplies show up later than expected, so during that time some homes were not as overstocked as usual until our supplies were delivered. If the reviewer had called, we would have immediately delivered additional supplies as needed.
As is noted on our website, and by our office staff during each reservation confirmation, our rentals are well equipped for your stay but are not supplied with any personal hygiene products or other consumable items, or food. We find that doing so creates a lot of waste and expense that has to be passed on to every renter, whether they use those items or not.
However, if a bit of research is done, you’ll see that our vacation properties are an exceptional value. A quick search will show that hotel rooms and other options are comparatively very expensive. To be reassured, please see the numerous reviews for this and other properties we manage. Most of our renters find these homes a very sensible alternative, particularly for families or those wanting a little more privacy and space than can be found in a hotel. Just don’t forget to bring some shampoo and toothpaste! We’ll remind you – just give us a call!
