Vacation Condo You can't get much closer to the sand than this. DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH. YOU CAN SWIM IN FRONT (season permitting). Oceanfront is not the same as BEACHFRONT. A beach has sand. Oceanfront is on a reef or rocks...NO SANDY BEACH. That is why the Oceanfront units are less.
Compare our lanai's views to the other units. Some are 200 feet from the beach. We have a Beach Front, Ground Floor, Corner Condo, so no neighbors on one side. Making it more private. Amazing 180-Degree View of Maui's south coast from the front corner master bedroom and Double Sized Lanai (seats 6, not just 4 like all the other condos).
Over two acre property has a Heated Pool, Beach Side Shower, 4 BBQ'S, Lounges, Pool Side Eating area and Lovely Tropical Grounds. Each side adjusts to desired firmness or softness. 2nd Bedroom has Pillow top Mattresses on Twins. They can be converted to a 2nd King. Living Room has Queen Sleeper Sofa & we have a Crib. Unit is Wheelchair Accessible, but not ADA compliant. We have Free Parking just steps from the unit.
Both baths have hair dryers & ceiling Fans. Master bath has walk-in shower, that a wheelchair can roll into. Full size Kitchen has all Appliances, Ice Maker, Dishwasher, Digital Washer (new 2013) and a Dryer, Microwave (new 2013), Cookware, Dishes & Toaster Oven.

Most people picture in their minds their “Dream” Vacation condo, right on a sandy beach with spectacular views and magnificent sunrises and sunsets. They could swim in front, or take a walk on miles of pristine, un-crowded beach. My 1,050 sq. ft. Direct Beachfront, Ground Floor, Corner Condo could be what you're dreaming of. With so many to choose from, this is my chance to tell you what I think sets mine apart from the others.
I take pride in our condo and work hard to keep it looking nice. I was at the condo for 15 days in the summer of 2014 working on it. I installed all new carpeting, bought new designer bedding for the king bed, installed new wood tone blinds in the master, painted a wall in the living room and a wall in the master, bought a new stereo system, installed a new water heater, added a new light over the sink, bought new towels, added more movies, bought a couple more boogie boards and new sand chairs. It is our home-away-from-home that we also share with our guests. I will be having a new virtual tour done to reflect the changes.
Not many condos are this close to a sandy beach. In summer you can swim or snorkel right in front. In winter, watch the Whales from the lanai, out in Maalaea Bay. When you walk in and see the view of the ocean from the living room, you will be delighted. When you go outside, the spectacular 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast will take your breath away. Every morning, you can watch the sun come up over Haleakala. It is truly, an indescribable experience.
The previous owner was in a wheelchair. He was allowed to enlarge the doorways and the master shower. They are wider than normal. He was given permission to enlarge the lanai to accommodate his wheelchair, plus tables and chairs. It's twice the size of the others. Being on a corner, it extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our views even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With a larger group, everyone can be together. It is the only lanai that accommodates the lounges. Free parking is provided just steps from the condo.
You can walk right from the lanai to the sand in only 15 steps. Our condo only faces the beach, miles of ocean, Maui’s south coast, Haleakala and the island of Lanai. Surprisingly, some units don't have air conditioning. During the warmer months (May through October) Maui gets into the 80’s and 90’s (August & September), the humidity can be at 90%. You really need air conditioning. Our condo has air, six cooling ceiling fans and a dehumidifier to remove moister from the air.
The Kanai A Nalu has been rated the best vacation property in Maalaea. On a quiet cul-de-sac there is very little traffic. Our complex is one of three in Maalaea that is on the beach. The other seven are on a rocky reef. Many have distant parking lots and half have coin $$ operated laundry rooms. Two are next to the busy Maalaea Harbor, with its traffic, boat engine noise and fumes. Our property has its own in-unit washer and dryer, air conditioning, beautiful grounds, 4 BBQ's, one of the few heated pools, and a beachside shower. It’s directly on 4 miles of beach that runs parallel to a protected wildlife refuge. On a morning walk you may not run into another person. This is the most un-crowded beach on Maui. It's like your own private paradise.
Many condos have an upstairs 'loft' bedroom, or a bedroom that is completely open to the living room and only closes with a flimsy folding wall. These offer no privacy or insulation from the noise of other guests. Our bedrooms are “traditional” rooms with solid walls and locking doors. In the master is a $2,600 'Sleep Numbers' King bed. Each side can be individually set to the desired firmness or softness of each guest. Two twin beds with pillow top mattresses in the second bedroom can be pushed together to create another king bed. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and Cable TV. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. We also have a portable crib. The condo comfortable sleeps six adults, plus small children.
Our Corner Condo is nothing like the 'interior' units that share two common walls. They have only one window in their master, and their second bedroom window opens to the back facing either a busy walkway, allowing strangers to look in or the noisy parking lot.
Our Corner Condo has NO NEIGHBORS ON ONE SIDE. It is quieter, more private and has incredible views of the beach from the front corner, master bedroom's wall-to-wall windows. Our second bedroom has views of the ocean, the tropical grounds and the pool.
The master bath has a walk-in, over-sized, tiled shower. It has both a hand held and wall mounted showerhead. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. Both bathrooms have cooling ceiling fans, designer accessories and wall mounted hair dryers.
You also have a view of the ocean from the updated kitchen. It has everything. Full size stove, side-by-side fridge, ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, blenders, coffee maker, cookware, utensils, silverware, dishes, an iron and ironing board, dishtowels and a washer and dryer.

Sleeps six adults + small children. Free parking located right out the back door. Short walk with luggage.
Please compare my condo's rate to the other direct beachfront units. I am very competitive. There are many inexpensive units available. Please look at their photos carefully. Ocean Front, does not mean Beach Front. Some units are over 200 feet from the beach, at the back of the complex. Except for the direct beach front units (that face the sand), the condos in our ”U” shaped complex face each other. People are across from each other hanging out on the lanai and looking into all the other units. Not much privacy. On some of the ground floor units they have so many plants growing around their lanai and windows, there’s not much of a view. Our condo with its corner, ground floor, direct beach front location has a double lanai with fantastic views.

When this condo came on the market I begged, borrowed and talked my grown children into buying it with me. It didn’t take much to convince them. All they had to do was watch a Virtual Tour and they were hooked. After the purchase, we spent more money remodeling and decorating. I keep the relaxed but elegant tropical feel of the condo because that was what we fell in love with. This is a wonderful, relaxing, and inspiring place!! A place where I can walk out , taking approximately 15 steps, and be on a beautiful, Maui beach. Feeling the warm soft sand squeeze between my toes. I can sit on the lanai and have views of the Maui coastline that goes on for miles, or I can watch the waves dance along the sand while my grandchild plays just a few feet away. It’s the Hawaii experience I say in the movies. The experience I dreamed about. This is our little piece of Paradise. And we would like to share it with you.

Why we love this place so much.
It is quiet, elegantly comfortable, romantic (even with kids along) and you will never forget the magnificent views of the beach from the direct-ocean-front location. This condo is closer to a sandy beach then any other condo in the building. Actually, it's closer to a sandy beach then any condo in any of the other buildings on Ma’alaea Bay. There may be condos that are closer to the water (with a rocky no-beach shoreline) but none are closer to a beautiful white sands beach that you can walk on or swim in. Why do I know this? I have been coming to Maalaea Bay for over 19 years and have stayed at five of the ten different properties located here. I consider myself to be a very “hard to please” person. I have always looked for a beautiful condo, right on the beach. Most of the ads said their condo was on the 'beach'. The photos all showed a beach in the background but from the angle of the shot I could never tell how close it really was. Unfortunately, I found out after I arrived that usually, there was no beach, only a rugged rocky shoreline. I would actually have to walk a long ways to get to a sandy beach. It made me really scrutinize the ads very carefully.

Our family stayed at Kanai' A Nalu recently. It was our first real family vacation in 12 years. We opted to rent this condo instead of staying at one of the big Maui resorts. Best decision we've ever made!
The location is ideal, convenient to everything! The harbor is within walking distance and there are lovely shops and restaurants. The condo is well appointed and felt like home. But the beachfront access and view from the lanai is what made this vacation so special. Literally, a few steps and you are in the ocean! And the sound of the waves at night made us all sleep like babies! We enjoyed every minute of this vacation and hope to be back soon. Book it, you won't be disappointed!
